Hi.

As you all are probably aware, a new version of jaws was released yesterday, and I have a question about the Picture Smart feature. Can this make it easier for us to solve those captias we’ve spent years on battling?

Thanks.

Actually, it is just jaws plus the number 8 on the top row.  Do this from the desktop and you should be in the default, tab and then type dr quickly. The keystroke is still there.  I suspect it is not defined in the keyboard for certain programs.

Having solved that mystery I shall go back to my previous occupation, fighting windows.

Hi Bill,

I don't know if this is a difference between Windows 10 Pro & Home or what but, with the latest J2019 update the drag / drop feature works on Windows 10 Pro.  I just moved Taskbar shortcut icons around without a problem but, attempting the same task with Windows 7 Pro drag & drop doesn't work with this J2019 update.  The only time I use drag & drop is moving Taskbar shortcut icons so that's all I tried.
Take care.  Mike.  Sennt from my iBarstool.

use first letter navigation d to get to drag and drop to see if it is defined. mine still is with the new 2019 released on windows 7.

F6 should do it. I always use alt-v, then h. It is a carry-over from

I can open options by pressing, Insert + J, or by pressing enter on the system tray icon. This works on both my Win7 & 10 computers. Maybe your screen isn't maximized or something simple like that. Have you tried rebooting or maybe a reinstall.

I suspect the days of using the jaws cursor like a mouse and navigating with it are coming to an end rapidly, that's why they are letting the feature die, if they are.

I’m not sure if there is some Windows setting I have engaged (or not), but I always see on these lists and elsewhere that people have trouble getting the JAWS cursor to function as it used to in Windows 10. Mine still works as it always has in all but the occasional very very rare instance (I can’t recall the last time it got “stuck), on my Windows 10 64-bit system.

But of course, I don’t really use many of the modern/universal style apps at all; that could also be an indicator.

I get that here as well, depending on what context I'm in.  Otherwise I get nothing.

I suspect the days of using the jaws cursor like a mouse and navigating with it are coming to an end rapidly, that's why they are letting the feature die, if they are.

I still get the message: “Object to be dragged not found. Drag and drop canceled.” When I invoke that command.

I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but the command for Drag and Drop (CONTROL plus JAWS Key plus NumPad slash has been removed from JAWS Version 2019.1903.9. The command is still listed, though, in the help file, and in the Command Search (JAWS Key plus SPACE, followed by J.)
