Re: Updating web site passwords in Chrome; Did something change?

Sieghard Weitzel <sieghard@...>

If you download something pressing Shift + F6 takes you straight to the dialogue where you can interact with the download in progress or the finished download which is why I thought this may be a good keystroke to try for this password thing which I have turned off in Chrome. Sorry, but I don’t trust Google with my passwords and use Roboform for that.

But something has indeed changed, if I am on a website I used to be able to press F6 once to go to the address bar, now this takes me to the currently open tab and I have to press F6 a second time to go to the address bar or use Alt + D or Control + L, but muscle memory is    hard to beat so I always end up pressing F6.

Sieghard:

That did it.

Had to hit F6 several times to find the dialog with the manage password button.

Thanks,

As I said before, try Shift + F6 instead of F6

If that doesn’t work try to press F6 a second and third time if necessary and see where that takes you.

Hello:

I changed a password to sign into a web site and now Chrome is asking me to update the save the password in Chrome.  Before if I hit F6 it would give me the dialog to save the password.  Now when I hit F6, it gives me a list of the open tabs and buttons to close each tab.

Was there a change in how to access that save password dialog?

Any help would be appreciated.

I suspect there are things you will need to do.  I'd start here:

There are also several tutorials for using jaws with google apps, you'll probably need to spend some time with them too.  This may be a simple change for a sighted person, it won't be for the rest of us.

Notepad++ and Jaws

Richard Turner <richardturner42@...>

Someone on this list, I think, mentioned using Notepad++ for creating web pages.

Since my previous software has stopped working I checked it out.

Jaws reads the status line after each character press, which makes it unusable for me.

Any way to stop that behavior?

JAWS abruptly stops speaking

turab chimthanawala

Hello all,
I use JAWS 2018 on a Windows 10 machine.
Since the past couple of days, Jaws abruptly stops speaking.
Interestingly enough, Non visual display access is also not responsive
at this time.
This does not seem a laptop issue as the volume is not mute. Also if
there is a speaker issue, then I should not face trouble while using a
head set.
The only option left is to restart the computer.
Any idea why this might be happening?
Thanking you
Regards
Turab
