Two Firefox Questions - Sounds Upon Download Completion and Activating Message
Richard B. McDonald
Hi!
I am using JAWS 2019 and Firefox, all the latest builds, under Windows 7. In Firefox, how do you make it play a sound upon download completion? Is there a plug-in for this or some setting within Firefox itself? Also, sometimes Firefox speaks a message telling me that some sort of action is required; like “Do you want to save the password for this website?” How do you get to the message’s buttons (e.g., yes, no, etc.) to address the message?
Thanks, Richard

JAWS accessible Order Management Software
Amanda Berkley
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for software that can track orders for a B2B wholesaler. It at least needs to be able to have users see if orders have been fulfilled or are still pending from multiple devices. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Amanda

Hi Raymond, you're welcome. I don't know if you saw but somebody else trying to write that email address and they apparently got bounced back. I posted to his Apple list and asked for the info. So if I get it I will send it back this way. Or if you get at an email from him go ahead and posted.

Bookmarks in chrome appeared to be stored in a file that only makes sense to chrome. This is typical with most browsers these days.

In Internet Explorer, I appreciated being able to create a desktop icon with the filepath to the Favorite folder for a variety of reasons. Is there such a way with Google Chrome? I cannot find anything in the User App data section that looks relevant.

setting voices for outlook
Mario
someone I know who is using JAWS 18 with Outlook 2016 wants to have a
female voice when reading an email and a male voice when composing a new or replying/forwarding an email. the male voice can be the same as the default voice. how can this be done? I'm going to be helping him since he is not savvy to do this himself. but I need help to tell him the steps needed to do this. it also sounds like the theme is not classic or may be set to classic but has been mucked up with different voices by someone else trying to straighten his mess out. how do I check and/or reset his speech theme?

Well,Waterfox portable does not work at all on my 32 bit Windows 7 desktop. When I open it, I get an interface with the following items: app, beta, other, help and waterfox 56.exe. But when I click on the last item, it just lists these same five items again. There is no home page or anything resembling a search edit field. Obviously, something is really screwed up.

Dave, windows+B to get to the list of programs, enter on Dopbox and up or down arrow until you get to preferences. You want to go to the last tab here. It may say selective sync. In that tab you will find a move button. This is the only way you should be moving dropbox folders.

it runs exactly like firefox once you reboot it the first time.

i also find that web pages load allot faster. so far jaws speech has not randomly paused for 10 seconds all the time like firefox 65 does. ** you have to reboot waterfox after it has been loaded because it detects your screen reader first and tells you accessibility is parcialy disabled. i forget what the buttons are like reboot. once you do this it will open with the waterfox home screen. which you can change in the tools/options menu. then it will run the same as firefox.

If I hit alt-b, the first option is "show all bookmarks", and it also lists the keyboard command of ctrl-shift-b, which would be a faster way of getting to the same screen. This opens the library window, which I can then search. It's also possible to remove bookmarks from here.

You can just do a Google search for Waterfox. What I like as well, is the ability to download a portable version of Waterfox. I love running a portable version, that I keep on the computer, because you do not have to install it on the computer. Re: waterfox with jaws
Dennis,
All I did was to open Google and then I searched for “Download Waterfox” The first search result was what I wanted and I pressed enter on it After the website opened I went to the top and used Jaws search, Control + Jaws Key + F to search for the word Download The first item it found was a link which said “Download Waterfox” After that I got my Safe AS dialogue where it wanted to download Waterfox 56.something setup. It took me about 30 seconds although I didn’t download it in the end because I use Chrome which works extremely well for me and since I was never a big fan of Firefox I doubt I would find Waterfox to be better then Chrome.
