Re: file path to Chrome bookmarks?
Bookmarks in chrome appeared to be stored in a file that only
makes sense to chrome. This is typical with most browsers these
days.

setting voices for outlook
someone I know who is using JAWS 18 with Outlook 2016 wants to have a female voice when reading an email and a male voice when composing a new or replying/forwarding an email.
the male voice can be the same as the default voice.
how can this be done? I'm going to be helping him since he is not savvy to do this himself. but I need help to tell him the steps needed to do this.
it also sounds like the theme is not classic or may be set to classic but has been mucked up with different voices by someone else trying to straighten his mess out. how do I check and/or reset his speech theme?

Well,Waterfox portable does not work at all on my 32 bit Windows
7 desktop. When I open it, I get an interface with the following
items: app, beta, other, help and waterfox 56.exe. But when I
click on the last item, it just lists these same five items again.
There is no home page or anything resembling a search edit field.
Obviously, something is really screwed up.

Hi Liz!
The best browser to use with JAWS, for me, has been a browser called:
Waterfox.
It was developed in 2012, and it is a spin off of Firefox, but it
works tons better.
It can use all of the classic Firefox plugins, and it is so very fast.
JAWS never messes up in Waterfox. It is kept up to date, and it is
very secure.
A new update just came out.
Water fox has an interface that is almost like the old Firefox.
It has a spell check built in and everything.
It has a reading mode where you can get the clutter off the page, and
read the article.
The reading mode is built in.
You just press:
Alt+CTRL+R to put a web site into reading mode.
With JAWS, I would say that Waterfox is my favorite browser.
You can just do a Google search for Waterfox.
What I like as well, is the ability to download a portable version of
Waterfox.
I love running a portable version, that I keep on the computer,
because you do not have to install it on the computer. Also, if you
keep the portable version on the computer, you can create a short cut
on the desktop just like you can with installed programs.
I hope this helps.
Take care, Liz.

Dave, windows+B to get to the list of programs, enter on Dopbox and up or down arrow until you get to preferences. You want to go to the last tab here. It may say selective sync. In that tab you will find a move button. This is the only way you should be moving dropbox folders.

it runs exactly like firefox once you reboot it the first time. i also find that web pages load allot faster. so far jaws speech has not randomly paused for 10 seconds all the time like firefox 65 does. ** you have to reboot waterfox after it has been loaded because it detects your screen reader first and tells you accessibility is parcialy disabled. i forget what the buttons are like reboot. once you do this it will open with the waterfox home screen. which you can change in the tools/options menu. then it will run the same as firefox.

If I hit alt-b, the first option is "show all bookmarks", and it also lists the keyboard command of ctrl-shift-b, which would be a faster way of getting to the same screen. This opens the library window, which I can then search. It's also possible to remove bookmarks from here.

Hi Liz!
The best browser to use with JAWS, for me, has been a browser called:
Waterfox.
It was developed in 2012, and it is a spin off of Firefox, but it works tons better.
It can use all of the classic Firefox plugins, and it is so very fast.
JAWS never messes up in Waterfox. It is kept up to date, and it is very secure. A new update just came out.
Water fox has an interface that is almost like the old Firefox.
It has a spell check built in and everything.
It has a reading mode where you can get the clutter off the page, and read the article.
The reading mode is built in.
You just press:
Alt+CTRL+R to put a web site into reading mode.
With JAWS, I would say that Waterfox is my favorite browser.
You can just do a Google search for Waterfox.
What I like as well, is the ability to download a portable version of Waterfox.
I love running a portable version, that I keep on the computer, because you do not have to install it on the computer. Also, if you keep the portable version on the computer, you can create a short cut on the desktop just like you can with installed programs.
I hope this helps.
Take care, Liz.

Dennis,
All I did was to open Google and then I searched for “Download Waterfox”
The first search result was what I wanted and I pressed enter on it
After the website opened I went to the top and used Jaws search, Control + Jaws Key + F to search for the word Download
The first item it found was a link which said “Download Waterfox”
After that I got my Safe AS dialogue where it wanted to download Waterfox 56.something setup.
It took me about 30 seconds although I didn’t download it in the end because I use Chrome which works extremely well for me and since I was never a big fan of Firefox I doubt I would find Waterfox to be better
then Chrome.

You don't have to use anything you don't want to. It seems to be on the level, though, and so far it's working pretty damn well. It's not really just for you to call something a worthless piece of junk when you spent, what, all of five minutes with it?

Here is what I do, I am telling you what I press and include what Jaws said from speech history:
Press Jaws Key + F11 to bring up the system tray and arrow to Dropbox: Dropbox 66.4.84 up to date, 5 of 14 Press enter and you should hear: tray-window - press enter again on that and you hear: Context Menu Open Dropbox folder - I now down arrow through all the options: Launch Dropbox website Launch Dropbox Paper Recently changed files sub menu 48.7% of 11.2GB used Unavailable Get more space Up to date Unavailable Pause syncing Snooze notifications sub menu Preferences... Help center Exit I suggest you definitely don't try to move the Dropbox folder because I doubt Dropbox would then work, you need to go into Preferences and tell Dropbox where you want the folder to be. So, arrow to Preferences and press enter. Now use Control + Tab to find the "Sync" tab: Dropbox Preferences Account Tab Import Tab Bandwidth Tab Proxies Tab Notifications Tab Sync Tab - press tab now, the first couple of times you won't hear anything, then you hear the following: OK Enter Button - continue to press tab Cancel Enter Button Apply Enter Button Selective Sync... Enter Select which folders sync to this computer: Select which folders you want to see on this computer. Any folders you unselect won't be shown on this computer, but you can still access them on dropbox.com. Move... Enter Dropbox folder location Choose where your Dropbox is located on your computer. All your Dropbox files will be saved in this folder. Press enter on that and you should be able to specify the new location.

Yes, definitely not, you would have to go to Dropbox Preferences via the system tray to specify a new location for the Dropbox folder. This would be under the Sync tab like this: Move... No, I was wrong on that. Keep tabbing until after a button that says make default. The next set of radio buttons will do what you want. Select open a page or set of pages, press spacebar and then tab to get to the options for what you want done there.

Re: some basic chrome naviagation questions
It is buried in settings. Press alt, arrow down to settings, hit enter, start tabbing. Tab until you here show home button, one tab after that is a set of radio buttons for where chrome starts. You can enter an address there, at least that's my best guess. I prefer no page so I choose the new tab page button.

Ctrl-t is the command you want for new tab. It may or may not say anything. alt-f b will get you to bookmarks as fast as you can in chrome.
Good luck.

Hey guys,
So i just downloaded Chrome. Wow, this thing is fast. A few navigation questions. What's the best way to open a new tab, i think it's control T but it didn't seem to say anything. Also, what's the best way to get to my bookmarks? I did an import from firefox. I'm gonna take chrome for atest drive to see how i like it. Any other suggestions for setup?
Thanks, Jed
