Best way to fill out PDF files
James Lockwood
I am a professional in the legal field and I have to fill out legal PDF documents. What is the best way to read PDF documents that are fillable PDF in an accurate manner? When I use Adobe and jaws the form is read out loud but the boxes to fill-in are out of order with the labels. Does anyone have a way to accurately read PDF files and fill them out correctly? Perhaps the iPhone?

Re: couple of questions for list
Sieghard Weitzel <sieghard@...>
I just checked and when I go to the Jaws Settings Centre and Key labels NumPad 0/Insert is set to speak, but if you press it (the Jaws key) by itself it says nothing and I don't recall that it ever has said anything. It's simply a modifier key like Shift, Alt or Control and none of them say anything if pressed by themselves.

spellcheck in Word 2016
Ann Byrne
Pressing f7 in word 2016,JAWS speaks the corrections list, the change, add, ignore, ignore all ... buttons; but it does not speak the misspelled word. I have played with alt+shift+l to list misspelled words, with insert+z, then m, using the applications key to look at corrections. Is there a way in Word 2016 with f7 for JAWS to speak the misspelled word????

Re: Jaws Saying Alt Shift F10 When Reading Through A List Of Items In Word Document

the problem is that that also disables correct spelling as you type, and correct grammar as you type. It does not, however, disable the awesome buzzer when JAWS finds a misspelled word.

Using JAWS 2019 and Word 365 I entered the characters : and ) (without spaces) to have Word autocorrect it into the smiling face with smiling eyes emoji, as the previous example advised. Word did convert it into the emoji. When I place the cursor on the
emoji JAWS announces "alt shift F10 to adjust autocorrection." This announcement can be disabled by pressing insert+V to access the JAWS Quick Settings dialog. Look for "autocorrect detection", disable it and that suppresses the announcement.
While I can see how this announcement can be annoying I personally don't want to not know when a word or phrase has been autocorrected. What I think Vispero should have is an option to have this particular notification being announced as a unique sound.
It could be quick, ideally non-intrusive but distinct enough so as to let the user know that this alert means that an autocorrect took place. I may also suggest this to Brian Hartgen to see if he might feel it's worth adding to Leasey. I should enable the
sounds option from within Word as I'm wondering if there is a unique sound that this option might have for autocorrect notifications. David Goldfield, Assistive Technology Specialist
