try using the insert plus numrow1 to turn keyboard help on and try different
key combos to see what the association is. insert plus
numrow5 will foreground and background colors and insert lus 3 will allow
the next key to pass through to the app just to mention two.
insert plus numrow 1 will turn off keyboard help is pressed a second time.

The problem appears to be intermittent, and not in all text entry boxes, and still shows up after a jfw repair.

No font?

Richard Turner <richardturner42@...>

What does it mean when I press insert+f and Jaws says “no font?”

I know there is text under the cursor….

Yes, I often get the same result.  It occurs in Word as well.  If I go back to the word in question then JAWS reads correctly.  I will again call FS with this issue but on last call they acted like a deer in the headlights.

Re: scripts for audacity

Hi Nino,
the released installers for the Jaws script for Audacity can be found on this page:
https://github.com/campg2j003/JAWS-Script-for-Audacity/releases

If you're using the latest version of Audacity, 2.3.0, you'll have to use a beta version of the script:
https://github.com/campg2j003/JAWS-Script-for-Audacity/releases/download/rel2.2.2-beta-2018-10-25/Jaws-Script-for-Audacity_2_2_2-beta-2018-10-25.exe

You'll probably be OK using that beta script for previous versions of Audacity, but if you have any problems you could use version 2.2.1 of the script:
https://github.com/campg2j003/JAWS-Script-for-Audacity/releases/download/rel2.2.1/Jaws-Script-for-Audacity_2_2_1.exe

David.

Hi. I just wanted to add one comment to this thread, that being the key to generate a list of words which are flagged as being incorrect is shift-alt-L.

One of its newest features is a capability which was offered by Window-Eyes but which is not available in JAWS unless you first enable navigation quick keys. With Lesey there are shortcut keys which can move the cursor to the next or previous spelling error as well as to the next or previous grammatical error. I realize that JAWS does offer this capability but I don't find it as useful. This is because you must first press insert-Z to enable navigation quick keys, press the desired hotkey and then you must press insert-Z to disable navigation quick keys so you can edit the document. Window-Eyes offered hotkeys which would move the cursor or caret to the next or previous error without the need to enable or disable browse mode and I never understood why JAWS never offered this capability. I requested these hotkeys to Brian Hartgen, one of the co-developers of Leasey, and he was kind enough to add it into the latest update, for which I am both thankful and very pleased.

Alt F7 takes you to each misspelled word. Issue with this method is that it
opens the context menu with suggested changes in it.  That often works, but
you have to press Escape once or twice to get out and read the word in
context if it's not obvious what word it is.  I think this is a Word
Command, not a JAWS one, so it probably works well for sighted users who can
see the misspelled word and are ready to see the list of suggestions.

The reason it works differently in Word from Outlook is that Outlook still
uses the old dialog box interface, whereas Word has gone to a ride side pane
display for spell check.

I don't like it either, but better than nothing. If you press enter on the
word JAWS finds, I think it takes you to it.  I still use f7, then escape to
find the word, then try to figure it from there.  Stinkin' annoying!

Ann,

Thanks, did not know about this. Better than nothing but it does not
take you to where you are in the document so you can ctrl arrow around
to see the context. It also does not spell the misspelled work out and
then give choices. Workable, yes, preferred to the normal behavior with F7,
no.

In her Word 2016 text book, KathyAnn Murtha recommends either using the
JAWS command alt+shift+l to locate misspelled words, or insert+z to
invoke Word's quick keys, then the lletter m to locate misspelled
words.  Once you have found a misspelleing, use the applications key to
suggest corrections.

When I hit F7 to do the spell check in an open Word document, I'm
given an option to change language and as I tab possible suggested
correctly spelled words. The problem is Jaws is not reading me the

I want to replace. Anyone found a work around for this?
This does not happen in outlook 2016, spell check works the way it is

UIA stand for UI automation.
Microsoft has been doing work on UI automation for 10 years Eric Damery said from Vispero. Microsoft became agressive on the UI automation.
I don't know why MS put a lots of work on it
UIA only apply to those Office 365 users.
