Re: Jaws 2019 has been released

No reason to wait, most likely by the time you get the DVD whatever version is available for download will be a newer version. If FS gets these DVD’s ready in the next week or two and into the mail yu will get the same version as is now available for download.

Furthermore, Jaws 2019 just as with all Jaws versions will install as a separate Jaws installation so if you did really find a situation where Jaws 2018 performed better you can simply unload Jaws 2019 and load Jaws 2018.

I tested the beta, and found it to be better for my purposes than JAWS 2018. They definitely fixed some bugs, and the improved Microsoft Office support is welcome - clearly noticeable with a current installation of Office 365, as, with the release, is the faster startup.

Agreed. A new feature for every release and two more for the updates is why we only recently got decent usability out of things like Chrome in JAWS 18 or so. Focus on issues, then when you've caught up to the app and platform baseline, we can talk about new toys to play with. I haven't bothered to keep JAWS up to date since 14 explicitly for that reason, but I'll be renewing my SMA shortly because now they're doing things I might actually have a use for. Well, that and because I'll probably be retiring windows 7 sooner than later.

I need one that is just for one ear something like a Plantronics voyager pro plus if I can find it. I do not think those one ear dongles like the Voyager pro plus work with laptop bluetooth for all the time audio do they? Any recommendations would be helpful. I am getting tired of wired single ear pieces or using full size headphones while keeping one ear uncovered it looks stupid

Re: Jaws and youtube

you have to be sure you have focus on the youtube player first.
if you turn off the virtual pc cursor you will have full access to the controls.
but only with the virtual pc cursor off.
f for full screen
j,k,l to go backwards, start and pause playback, and go forward.
sometimes the space bar will start and pause playback.
if you have a full size keyboard use the 4 pack
the left and right arrow will also move back and forward. the up and down arrow will change the playback volume.

Hi!

Just start pressing B for button, after going to the top of the page with CTRL+home!

Pressing B will get you to all of those controls!

ITUnes 12 warning

James Lockwood <lockwoodnd@...>

This may have been posted already so if so I am sorry. But iTUnes 12 sucks for accessibility. For me it did anyways. I am using jaws 2018 and updated itunes to 12. Bad mistake. I found it impossible to navigate or return my views of genre artist song from left to right in that order back from how i had it in itunes11. I reverted back to older itunes11. Also, be sure you keep a backup copy of itunes library folder in case you ever want to go back to whatever version you currently have. Once you update older versions of itunes wont be able to read any library files touched by newer versions of iTUnes. Neweversions corrupt them for older versions. Library folder located c users userName appData roaming apple computers itunes folder. Unhide hidden files and protected protected operating files to find it if you dont type it into the address bar instead. Sorry for length. Just thought someone may find it helpful. ITUnes 12 may have been out for a while. But just in case i can save anyone else all the time i have spent last day or so this post will have been worth it

Single ear piece and jaws

James Lockwood <lockwoodnd@...>

I am an attorney and completely blind. I use my laptop in court. Does anyone know of a single wireless or bluetooth ear piece that works with jaws? I need one that is just for one ear something like a Plantronics voyager pro plus if I can find it. I do not think those one ear dongles like the Voyager pro plus work with laptop bluetooth for all the time audio do they? Any recommendations would be helpful. I am getting tired of wired single ear pieces or using full size headphones while keeping one ear uncovered it looks stupid
