Thanks,

IMPORTANT!! - External Content - Please use caution.

Hi all,

Does anyone know if either JAWS 2018 or JAWS 2019 Beta 2 work with Office 2019?

I realise that Office 2019 is really an incremental update if you are an Office 365 subscriber and have applied the updates to 2016 as I am and have, but wanted to double check before I go ahead and install as I only have one Windows PC.

It’s not clear to me from the Beta 2 features page whether it does or not.

Many thanks,

Ed

Actually, if this is a work machine, they may not unless you go through their Enterprise department, and I don't think they have a phone number.

Hi Brian & All,

It's very accessible.  All that's required to do is arrowing, tabbing and using the spacebar to check or uncheck options.
Take care.  Mike.  Go Dodgers!

I will note that if it's accessible, and based on this topic I suspect it is, at least partially, Winaero Tweaker is a really, really nice tool.  It gives you a lot of control over the UI and it's just as easy to undo something you've done as it is to try it out.

Two Problems While Reading PDFs

Rahul Bajaj

Hi All,

Hope all well. The two problems are:
A. In PDF documents, JAWS doesn't reliably remain on the line on which
I was before, say, pressing alt-tab to jump to another window. It
keeps going up and down a bit for no apparent reason. Sometimes, it
jumps up/ down entire pages on its own.
2. For a lot of PDF documents, I am not able to get to the desired
page number by entering the same in the ctrl+shift+n box. Any
thoughts?

I use JAWS 2018, latest version, with Win 10.

Best,
Rahul

#jaws How to stop Jaws constantly reading call status on Cisco IP communicator? #jaws

Mark S

Hello,

I have a client using JAWS who uses Cisco IP communicator, when making phone calls, JAWS repeatedly reads the call status out loud while she is trying to deal with the call, this only started happening a few weeks go as it never did this before.  From what I understand the control key works as normal, but doesn't in this case, when there is an incoming call, she has found a work around of using control + tab + 1 but would like a better solution.

Not being familiar with the JAWs software, is there anyway to completely disable this or better key combos? A ay to reenable the normal control command for this action?

Re: creating a usb bootable drive

netbat66

maybe so, but useing a 16gb flash drive will leave space for jaws, nvda, open book etc.
and they don't cost much now.
so you could install them all from the same flash drive.
also, with my u s b 2, 8gb flash drives will not work vary well with my u s b 3 ports. half the time windows 7 or 10 will detect them or they will but windows will say the drives are empty or need to be formatted. even though i know there are files on them.
i can put them on a u s b 2 port and they work fine.
i haven't had these problems with my 32gb u s b 2 flash drives i have now. they work on both ports.
i haven't tried u s b 3 flash drives yet.
