Yeah, pretty much what I've done. Seems like an arbitrary number though.

The best I've come up with is splitting entries between the default dictionary and application-specific dictionaries, you can double the number of entries that way. Other than that it's a hard cap.

I can understand why it was a hard cap when jaws was created but computers have so much more memory now it seems silly. And regardless the dictionary manager is very poorly written (as the dictionary grows the manager grows very sluggish).

Hi, folks.

I use, at various times, JFW 15 and JFW 2018--both fully
authorized--on a Dell notebook running Windows 7. The following might
seem like a picky or unimportant question, but to me it represents an annoyance.

I appear to be running out of room to make new entries in my JAWS
Dictionary Manager. Whenever I attempt adding a new entry--that is,
to teach JAWS how to pronounce a given word--I get an error message
saying the JDiction MFC Application has stopped working due to an
unspecified problem. (I presume the file has reached its size limit.)
I've built up lots of pronunciation entries over the years and would
like to keep adding more. But is there a way to do this? Or am I out
of luck? Right now my dictionary file contains
49.612 kilobytes--seemingly not much by today's standards.

Thank you.

Re: windwos store suddenly crashing?

Chris

You could try resetting the store app

If you go into settings > apps > apps and features

Select the Microsoft store from the list of installed apps

Hit enter to expand and choose advanced

Then tab down to reset and enter

I don’t know if it will work or not but its worth a shot

Good luck

UPDATE: I was having problems in Firefox and JAWS this morning (10/08) too. I switched to Chrome and it was okay. I am using Firefox 62.0.3 (64-bit). Just as a side note, I am using an ad-block, not sure if that will do anything though.

Re: JAWS 2019 Beta 2 And Microsoft Outlook 2016

Yup. Reported this to VFO with both betas already. Having over 400 contact entries makes this particular issue especially annoying and disruptive.

On the other hand, it seems they finally fixed the focus issue when navigating your various contacts in Outlook. Now, when you’re on a name, you’re actually on that name instead of one or two to the left or right.

I am also having the Outlook auto fill issue. Jaws 2018 is working just fine with the auto fill so it is my belief that this is a problem on Freedom Scientific's end. I have filled out the public beta form so I'm sure they're aware of this issue.

UPDATE: I was having problems in Firefox and JAWS this morning (10/08) too. I switched to Chrome and it was okay. I am using Firefox 62.0.3 (64-bit). Just as a side note, I am using an ad-block, not sure if that will do anything though.
