Hi Don,
You will occasionally
hear Outlook Express spoken because WLM and Outlook Express share some same
files / scripts in Jaws.

Problems when entering formulae in Excel
Sameer
Dear List Friends,
While entering formulae in Excel using the arrow keys, JAWS does not speak
the cell coordinates when arrowing left or right but will speak them if arrowing
up or down. For example, if I want to enter =B1+B2 in cell A1, JAWS will read
“=B1” when I arrow down from A1 after typing the = sign. But when I press the +
sign & arrow right to B2, JAWS will stay silent. But the formula appears in
cell A1.
Kindly advise how I can make JAWS read the cell references when arrowing
left or right when entering formulae.
I am using a 64 bit Windows 7OS with JAWS 18 & Office 2016.
Thanking you in advance for any & all assistance.
Regards
Mr. Sameer

I'm setting up a new Windows 10 Home laptop for my wife. I would like to get feedback from those that used or know about both Office 2016 & Office 365. I don't want a subscription but, I want an install version.

If you want installed then it's some version of Office 2016. Given the low cost of recycled licenses, I'd definitely try one of those first. I did have one that would not work and the seller promptly sent me a different license key. If you see someone selling these that has solid seller ratings in their profile I wouldn't hesitate for one second. A couple of these that I bought for under $7.50 were from new and unknown sellers, but the potential loss (which, by the way, did not happen) was so small it was well worth the risk compared to the cost of a brand new license. I am presuming this current topic is a spin off of your earlier query regarding the Windows 10 Mail App and asking for a tutorial. I'm also presuming I might be the Brian you're addressing. I have no idea why JAWS might occasionally say "Outlook Express" if you're actually using Windows Live Mail, particularly one of the later versions, but if you know that's what you're using it's probably some peculiarity about timing and what gets exposed to the screen reader for reading at a split second in time. Re: Figured work-around for JAWS beta for 40-minute mode
David & his pack of dogs <myguidedogis@...>
Thanks. For a minute there I thought you found a work around to bypass the demo mode. That happened with JAWS 8, I inadvertently found a way to bypass the prompt thus the system thought it was a licensed product rather than a demo.

Sent: September 29, 2018 4:06 AM To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: Figured work-around for JAWS beta for 40-minute mode
Hi listers:
A few days ago, a list member had trouble using JAWS Beta in 40-minute mode.
The problem was that JAWS was saying a corporate license file was needed. When selecting “OK” on this button, JAWS would close.
It turns out that this problem only occurs if you select the checkbox to not show the authorization dialog at startup.
So, when you first install the beta on a system not authorized for JAWS, you can still run it in 40-minute mode, but, you should not check the box that says “do not show this dialog again” at startup. Each time you start the beta, you will need to hit the button “Continue in 40-minute mode” (by pressing alt-C) at startup.
I have reported this on the beta report form.
Hope this helps.

This isn't happening for me. JAWS 2018, Goldwave 6.35 and Windows 10. You could use the JAWS cursor to click on the item you want in the dialog box. I just checked and it works, although for some reason the JAWS cursor only reads the item your system cursor is on, but I haven't tried it in any of the other JAWS cursor modes. Anyway, that's probably not much of a better workaround than yours. -----Original Message----- From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Mario Sent: September 29, 2018 10:59 AM To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: JAWS and Goldwave presets I'm using the latest version of Goldwave with JAWS 2018 on Windows 7: whenever I navigate to any effect I want to test out on a sound file, JAWS does not read the names of the presets as I down arrow but the preset does activated when pressing F4 to preview the result, but then don't know what preset I'm testing out. however, the only way I can get JAWS to announce the name is to press alt+down arrow, arrow down or up to a preset, press alt+up arrow, and press F4. this gets rather tedious after doing it for a few times. in other instances where I can adjust a setting for the preset and where I can type a value instead of arrowing to change the value, JAWS remains silent when pressing the down or up arrows. Re: Does anybody use word press with jars?
David & his pack of dogs <myguidedogis@...>
There is a face book group specifically for word press users. One of the members probably the mod offered to help me with mine, at a cost of course. Problem was, his grammar was so pathetic that I felt if he is so negligent about not using a spell checker/grammar checker, how could he help build a professional looking word press blog. Sorry, how we come across to the general public is extremely important. If words are crammed together or our grammar is poor it reflects negatively on our product and makes us look uneducated. Thus someone will go somewhere else.

Hello David. I would appreciate it if you would pass along links to the tutorials that you found particularly helpful. Thanks so much.

It seems logical.

Goldwave has a forum don't they? Maybe you could write there. Surely there are other Windows 7 users. I jumped straight from XP to Windows 10 and so never experienced GW with 7 in any version.
