Re: Jaws 18 and Jaws 2018 sounds so difference
No, I think he does mean Jaws 18 and Jaws 2018. Jaws 18 was released in the fall of 2016, Jaws 2018 was released a year ago, in the fall of 2017. I guess going forward this will be less confusing since the change to using the upcoming year for the version which is released in October continues, just so happened that this year, 2018, we had Jaws 18 and then Jaws 2018 starting in October of 2017 as the upgrade for Jaws 18.

In the body of your message, you only say 18. I am guessing you mean 19 sounds better or louder? I will have to check, but did you migrate your settings from 18 when you installed the 19 beta? Otherwise, it sounds like the volumes are set differently. Richard

Re: sending a screen shot
The windowed screen shots on all the systems where I've taken them, and where they end up in the Videos\Captures folder, have a file name of the format:
Window Title Date Time Stamp dot png Some examples: Administrator_ Windows PowerShell 9_17_2018 12_58_30 PM.png Device Manager 9_19_2018 5_15_09 PM.png Feedback Hub 8_22_2018 11_22_30 AM.png How to create a capture screen via the screen button and or via the snipping tool_ - Google Chrome 8_28_2018 4_59_13 PM.png That last one was of a Chrome browser window and the whole "How To . . ." part was the tab title for the webpage. Even though they can get ridiculously long, it's easier to know what they're of than the full screen screenshots which get named Screenshot followed by Screenshot(1), Screenshot(2), etc. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1803, Build 17134 A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep. ~ Saul Bellow, To Jerusalem and Back

It has been a long time since I used Jaws 18, so I am not sure why that would be.
Are the volume percentages the same?

I repeat:
Under Windows 10, as of Version 1803, you can take both a full screen screen shot with WinKey+PrtSc, and the resulting screen shot will be saved in Pictures\Screenshots, and a windowed screen shot with WinKey+Alt+PrtSc, which on the vast majority of machines I've done it on still gets saved in Videos\Captures. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1803, Build 17134 A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep. ~ Saul Bellow, To Jerusalem and Back

Re: Thinking of upgrading to 019
Jason White
The JAWS 2019 beta fixes at least one bug related to Microsoft Word, where it wouldn’t reliably read lines of text containing comments.
In Microsoft Outlook, there was a bug whereby, upon opening a mail message, the cursor would be placed somewhere other than at the start of the message body. So far, I haven’t encountered this in JAWS 2019 beta, which suggests that it may have been resolved by the transition to the new Microsoft Office support.

Well, it won't erase your current version, so you have nothing to lose but a little time and space. The beta fixed my thunderbird problem, and hasn't broken anything I can find yet.

Looking for a Jaws accessible appointment reminder app/service
Cristóbal
Hello list, I was wondering if there are any business owners out there or folks who deal with subcontractors and have to manage appointments and confirmations. I’ve got a business where I broker out work and need to confirm appointments and so on. So far, with Outlook (Office 365 for business) and Google Voice, I’ve been managing it with emails and texts, but I’d like to get something a little more automated and reduce the manual workload. Right now, it’s juggle emails, check and cross check who’s confirmed, follow up with a vendor who hasn’t confirmed, etc. I’m also in the process of taking on a contract for a much larger workload and would really like to have something in place before things become unmanageable. I am a heavy Outlook user and yes, I know there are meeting and reminder functions in Outlook, but my Outlook calendar notes have information such as contract numbers other vendor info and stuff in general I’d prefer not to share with my sub vendors for their assigned appointments as there’s no reason for them to see that sort of data and my notes. In any event, does anyone know of anything out there that is Jaws friendly and as a plus integrates with the Office eco system? Outlook, etc.? I’m sure some of you have had experience with this sort of thing. Where you may get an email or text reminding you of an upcoming engagement with the option to click confirm/decline or if texting, reply 1 for yes or 2 for no and so on. As an idea, I’ll likely be working with upwards of 300 appointments a month throughout the state of California. So anything that can automate this task is something I’m very interested in. Below is one such option I was checking out. I don’t mind paying as long as it accomplishes what I need and cuts down on my having to chase down confirmations. https://www.goreminders.com/pricing Again, any input or observations and experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cristóbal
