If your system is s not doing that automatically, exactly what is it doing?

Re: file type associations

What are you trying to do? If all you want is to change a program associated with a certain extension you can do it from the properties of the file, e.g. press Alt+Enter on the file. For example, if you want to change it so MP3 files open in iTunes instead of Groove Music, find an MP3 file, press Alt+Enter, then find the "Change" button and select iTunes.

Good Morning,

To create a keyboard shortcut do the following

1 - Go to the desktop and bring focus to the Chrome icon
2 - Hit your application key or shift F10 and arrow up to properties
and hit enter
3 - Tab to the shortcut key and choose the shortcut you want to
use.
4 - If you want to change what type of window opens ie normal,
maximized or minimized you would tab once more to make the appropriate
change
5 - Shift tab to Apply and hit enter
6 - Shift tab to ok and you should be good to go
Hope this helps.

Next question please: What is the exact procedure for creating the

don't think that I'll use letter "c" as I'm using a one hand(can't use left
one) keyboard, and typing that
letter requires use of the spacebar which I'd like to avoid if possible.

If you have a Chrome shortcut on your desktop you can go into the shortcut
properties and assign whatever shortcut you want, e.g. Alt+Control+C or
Alt+Control+G etc. There might be a time when you want to fall back on
Alt+Control+IE so
I wold leave your IE shortcut alone and make a new one for Chrome.
Auto forms mode is a Jaws setting and has nothing to do with the shortcut
key you use to open your browser unless you are talking about something else
and I am completely misunderstanding your question.

Hey guys:

Am curious,

I wish to turn my touch screen back on in win 10;

When I follow directions on ms support page,

It says to:

Open device manager,

Look for human interface devices,

Then right arrow and open it,

Then look for hid – complient touch screen;

This is where the problem is,

Jaws doesn’t red that,

It says hid – complient consumer device for a few of them, and,

For others, it says hid – complient vendor device;

Under human interface device, I see 14 entries within that box?

Is there something I am missing?

Is it that jaws doesn’t recognize what those icons are?

I also tried this with nvda and also narrator, and got same results;

Hi,

Was it someone from this list who was going to email the makers of Casper 10
about not being accessible with Jaws.

If it was, did you receive any feedback from the Company?

I recently sent an email to Bullguard support pointing out that it was very
difficult to use the program by means of just the keyboard. Although the
support person said my email would be passed on to those who are responsible,
nothing has happened as yet.

Re: can you save information from a web page to your desktop?

Regardless of which method one uses, and the MS Print to PDF is a good one, this is generally the best way to save webpage content in a way that is readable outside a web browser.  I use PDF Creator, but the concept is precisely the same, it is a virtual printer that takes what it's given to "print" and puts it into a PDF file.

With regard to the original query, for a personal credit report, I would be surprised if there is not a "save as PDF" option somewhere on that webpage, but perhaps not.  I know I've saved my credit reports in the past using a feature on the reporting entity's webpage, not via PDF Creator.

Re: can you save information from a web page to your desktop?

If the website has a print button and you use Windows 10 you can always use the Microsoft Print to PDF printer and save the file to your desktop (or documents folder), then you have a PDF file which you can open in Acrobat Reader and print on a printer or save or email to somebpody.

Hi, David. Theoretically, you can save a webpage anywhere. The trick is that Internet Explorer, and sometimes other browsers, want to save information in the last folder in which you were working. So, for example, say I was last working in Music, and pasted something into the clipboard from there.

If I were to use CONTROL plus S to save a webpage to my computer, It would try to save that webpage in the Music folder, since that is where I last copied something from.

If you know how to use your "browse buttons, though, you can change where your browser is going to save a webpage or html document at any given time.

Hello gang. Using latest release of JAWS2018, windows 10 and Office 365 pro plus installed natively on my PC.
I installed Office 365 Pro plus on my work Ultrabook. Office 365 installation adds Skype for Business 2016. I’m finding it quite accessible and usable with my latest updated version of JAWS2018 except for one big issue.
All works well when I’m in a virtual meeting with a person and am sharing my screen with them. When I give them control of my screen then any key press on my end just sets off JAWS to read every piece of text on the window in focus on my screen as if the JAWS cursor was reading every single piece of text on focused window. No key press on my end such as escape or control does anything at all to stop JAWS from speaking. The other person confirms to me that all my key presses are having the desired effect on my screen e.g. alt tab jumps across different application windows open on my screen, characters are being typed etc. It’s just that JAWS just won’t stop talking until it’s read every single piece of text in the focus window on my screen and not shut up by any key presses.
Are you familiar with this? This is a deal breaker as often I grant control to others to click on control elements of applications on my screen that are inaccessible.

Re: Correcting the way my synthesizer says something

Robin,

           I have also written to VFO technical support about what the regular expression matching and substitution capabilities of JAWS 2018 are.   I am as close to certain as I can be that I have used this technique in a JAWS speech dictionary in earlier versions of JAWS but I'll be darned if I could find where it's stashed today.

           I absolutely know that NVDA can do it, and I fail to believe that my memory of having done so at one time with JAWS is incorrect (but I will probably be proven to be wrong).
