Guide to the Taskbar on Windows 10, updated for the April 2018 update
David Bailes
I've updated my guide to the Taskbar on Windows 10 for the April 2018 update (version 1803), and it's available here:
http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Taskbar-10-Guide.html As before, the guide covers the start menu, search, Cortana, the taskbar buttons, the notification area, and notifications. The changes are mostly minor, but the guide covers focus assist, and the new format of Cortana's notebook. If you're still using Windows 10 version 1709, then a guide to the taskbar for that version is still available at: http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Taskbar-10-1709-Guide.html David.

Yes, it works.
“System Exit” is the event associated with shutdown.
“Windows logoff” is associated with signing off to log on as a different user.

What is the difference between “System Exit” and Windows logoff”?
Have you tried this technique and did it work?

I am afraid I have never found a way of accessing Excel slicers. I could not find an easy way to use pivot tables, either. I had to ask one of my colleagues to create buttons on a spreadsheet to invoke macros. However, macros can also be accessed by pressing <Alt F8> and <Tab> and scrolling down a listbox. Pele West

Re: shut down sound for windows 10
Fair or not doesn't come into play here, I lost my sight along with 2 fingers on each hand in an accident when I was 16 and it was entirely my own stupid fault. Is it fair I can't jump into my truck and drive out into the mountains to go hunting or hiking? Is it fair that I can't see a cute girl smiling at me from across the street? OK, so that last one wouldn't happen anyways if it weren't for my beautiful seeing-eye dog *smile*.

Anyhow, what I am saying here is that we are blind (or visually impaired) and that is what we are. Is it fair that some people can't just get up from the couch to walk to the toilet because they need a wheelchair or that others like one of the Paul's on here are not only blind but also profoundly deaf? Maybe it's not fair, but it just is and so we make the best of it and are happy or we don't and are miserable. Take care, Sieghard

Re: all Skypes work together??
David Moore
I just wanted to let you know, that if you use the three new Skype platforms, your messages will sync to all three Skype platforms, and between all of your devices. For example, I can chat on the Windows 10 Skype app, And then get on my other computer, bring up Skype 8.25, And all of my messages are all there. There is even Skype for Web, where the layout is just like Skype 8.25, but you can use it in your browser, and not have it installed on your computer. You can get on two or three devices, and all you do on Skype is synced on all of those devices. That is a huge reason not to use Skype 7 anymore. You are stuck to using one device, and not a phone at all. Have a great one! David Moore

They have a lot of tools, and can look on their knowledge base to see the best way to remove the ABSunset virus. The problem you’re going to have is that you may need to start your computer in safe mode. It seems highly unlikely that defender didn’t detect the virus It must have been allowed through, check your virus history
And it does look like you may have to use 3rd party software to rid you of this particularly nasty virus
