Re: How do I ID font formats?

Actually, the keystroke is alt+windows+i.

If you bring up the quick settings with insert+v while in Word, and shift tab to the search box and type: text analyzer, you can toggle the settings for the analyzer.

I searched the web for Jaws Text Analyzer and found the contents of a webinar that goes into more detail.

At the following link, there is an option to download a zip file of the presentation:

Hello Bill,
Does your version of JAWS have the text analyzer feature? If it does, press CTRL plus windows key plus I while in a word document. This feature, when used correctly, allows one to note inconsistencies within the writing. Such inconsistencies include missing capital letters and font such as boldface T type, etc. This is not a one time keystroke. It has to be pressed every time you wish to know an inconsistency in your writing. his should help, but I am not sure. Thank you for asking, Ashley

Are there any members on this list who use Windows Mail when they used
Windows Vista?

If there are, do you remember if there was a short cut keystroke to take you

I am using Windows Mail but, I do not see such a short cut keystroke.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi,

Windows+Shift+V hasn’t worked for a long time (from what I can tell).

As for why this command is changing: the upcoming feature update to Windows 10 (Redstone 5) introduces cloud clipboard, a way to copy and paste texts and small files across devices. When this feature was introduced in a Windows Insider Preview build, Windows+V was assigned to cloud clipboard, thus Windows+Shift+V is now used to cycle through toasts (this reminds me: I need to make this clear the next time I send out screen reader advisories for Redstone 5…).

Cheers,

Joseph

JAWS Key plus F speaks font information. Changes to bold, italic, etc., are controlled by JAWS scripts, enabled in programs like Microsoft Word.

First, before I say anything, I want to express my appreciation for this list, and for those who have been helping me with my latest internet browser issues.

I now have successfully gotten the download completion notification sound to work in Firefox 61.

However, I’m still having trouble getting it to work in internet explorer  11 here.

In IE, I have made sure that the “notify me when download is complete” option is checked.

However, in IE 11, when I go to accessibility, I can’t seem to find the needed option to turn download completion sounds on.

If someone can give me some additional instructions as to where to find this option and how to get there in IE 11, I’d appreciate that very much.

Thank you!

I wonder if you can’t find an executive case somewhere. Maybe a pH has one? Just thinking on this issue. Hope this helps actually

windows 10 pro questions

Marvin Hunkin <neilmarvin@...>

Hi. got a Toshiba satellite p6t, came with windows 7 64 bit pro, and got windows 10 64 bit pro, latest update. Need some information or some questions answered.

  1. Why do I not get the windows update in action centre?
  2. Why is the group edit and set windows to notify me of a download and then ask, says enabled, but not enabled.
  3. I cannot uninstall my universal apps, as don’t want groove music, alarms, and mail and calender. Don’t use them. But no uinstall, is there a way to do this.
  4. Also in the windows updates, get the play video button, and what’s new, how do I hide that.

Thanks for any help. Did try googling, but could not seem to find an answer.

Bill, Ashleigh, and all.

I think I now have checked the appropriate options for getting the Internet Explorer sounds to indicate that a given download is complete.  I simply was not arrowing down far enough under the accessibility internet options to get to where I needed to go.

However, I’m now having difficulties testing this on the BARD web site.

The difficulties are with Internet Explorer;  Firefox works fine.

I’ll post a quiry to the BAR List, rather than cluttering up this list with a BARD-related quiry.

Hi, Tom. If you go to Internet Options>Advanced, and go to the Accessibility section, it is the fourth entry down: Play System Sounds. It may say this option is off. Just press Space Bar, and tab to Apply.

Thanks, Cathy.

At least I now know it isn’t just me.  (smile)

I guess things have changed with the latest iteration of Internet Explorer 11.

May just give Microsoft Accessibility a call.

At least I can now get my download completion sounds in Firefox, which I use as my main internet browser anyway.

And, I’m planning to download and install Chrome as yet another browser option.

I was looking for this a bit ago for a student. Unfortunately, it seems this option is configured in the Windows registry.  I don’t feel comfortable giving instructions for accessing the registry but you can do a Google search for detailed instructions or ask Microsoft Accessibility to check it for you.

Tom,
This is under the advanced tab in your tools and Internet options. You will have to press P to get to play system sounds and make sure it’s checked. You might also want to press P again until you get to play system sounds on webpages make sure that is checked. Hope this helps
