moderated Software for canging volume in audio tracks for .flac and .wav files

Dave Durber

Hello Everyone:

When I rip audio CD's to flac lossless audio, for example, the volume can vary considerably from track to track.

I appreciate that the original volume was set at the original recording company.

Does anyone know of a program, which will allow me to set the audio in the .flac files, to 0 DB or +1 DB across all tracks and which is accessible using JAWS?

Thanks in anticipation.

Sincerely:

Dave Durber

press alt for the ribbon bar, then f for file and t for options.
down arrow to the save category.
press tab until you get to the Don’t show backstage view when saving or
opening files option and spacebar to check it.
press tab or shift+tab to the ok button and spacebar on it.

If you go into the file menu, Options, you can turn off the Backstage
view, then you can go back to using control-s to save a document.
It is some visual thing that is useless to screen reader users.

I have noticed a strange occurrence on Indeed.com, which is my favorite job site.
On some machines, when you click on a job search link, the link will open in a new window, revealing all of the job info, and of course, always a way to apply for the job.
On other machines, when you click a job link, you hear absolute silence, nothing.
However, if you scroll down the page, all of the information is there, it is just way further down the page.
I am uncertain why the combination of different browsers yields different results, but I now know that it is at least possible to scroll the page on Indeed.com and find the exact information and all of the details.
Thanks.

Hi, how are you list members, here's what I've noticed while performing another job search using monster.com. I found that whether you type music producer like I did or use the word musical producer, you seem to get the same results. I will try musical engineer as was suggested by another list member. I want to thank that list member for that suggestion along with the suggestion to put in musical producer. Just wanted to report something to let you know what the search results turned up. Thank you!

Hi, list members, i'd like to know if anyone else has had the problem while doing a job search for a specific job that you get results for jobs that you didn't search for. I'm continuing to have such a problem when it comes to using monster.com. As an example, when I type in music producer as a job title, I get things like the following: teacher, sales associate, is there something that I need to do in order to specify my job title or should I put quotes around the words or something else? I'm running out of time trying to get the proper results for the job titles that I search for. I would appreciate any information that anyone might have concerning this problem that i'm having.

Hi there Joe!  Do you know if the exchange account is linked to Office 365?  If not, you may have to set up some of the account settings manually.  You may want to inquire about incoming and outgoing server settings to see if you can get those to put into your Outlook.  Just a thought.  Several years ago, we had this sort of exchange account at work, and it was tough at times to configure accounts in Outlook.

Mario,

It's beyond annoying, it's misleading.  I wonder if some of this isn't the result of a setting used in the webpage editors that folks are using.  Very few people code HTML from scratch these days and all of us here know that for any complex piece of software there are settings that we have never visited and probably never will.

That's my guess, as I can't imagine making the conscious decision to make an element clickable when actually clicking on it accomplishes nothing.

I appreciate your having taken the time to offer these
suggestions.

What I want to make clear is that, since I can see the
objects (very often just plain text) being announced as "Clickable," and
have tried actually clicking on them to see if that does anything, I am
absolutely certain that most of the "Clickable" announcements are being
made about things that are not, in actuality, clickable.  Or, I guess I
should say you can click on them but doing so has no effect whatsoever.
It's quite bizarre and I'd love to know the whats & whys of the
clickable announcement.  As it stands it makes absolutely no functional
sense in most cases where it occurs.

Hi Sieghard,

I was wondering why that would be the case, and I don’t exactly know why you would have such a good experience on the Outlook web interface. I know it wasn’t at all accessible for me until I changed to the light version. If memory serves, I had a difficult time going in to the web version and changing to the light version, so I first changed to the light version by changing the end of the URL to layout=Light as I discussed previously. Once I did this I was able to go into the settings and make the change there. Another way to do this is to change the URL and then create a shortcut on the desktop pointing to the URL ending with “layout=light”.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the version of Office 365 being used? I think there are builds that get updated on a monthly basis and others that get updated less frequently?

Whatever the case, I’m glad you are able to access the web version of Outlook without changing anything!

Proper way, via settings:

Manual method:
After signing in by whatever method (probably

look at the address bar, it will probably start with something like the following:
https://outlook.office365.com/owa/?blaughblaughblaugh
<https://outlook.office365.com/owa/?blaughblaughblaugh>
Just go and delete the blaughblaughblaugh part, and put in
layout=light, so the new address would be
https://outlook.office365.com/owa/?layout=light
<https://outlook.office365.com/owa/?layout=light>

Make sure not to delete the question mark (?) in the URL.

Thanks in advance
