Looking for an accessible VOIP/softphone option for desktop and iOS mobile
Cristóbal
Hello list, I know this topic has come up from time to time before, but I was hoping for a refresher. I’m in need of a VOIP/softphone solution that will work with desktop and mobile. In my case, iOS. I as well as other parties need to be able to make and receive calls, place people on hold, etc. I don’t want to get a dedicated phone line per say since I would need to take and review information over the phone. I’ve currently got a Skype number that has worked fine for now with one business of mine, but I have this other endeavor where it would not just be me who would need to access/be accessible via phone. That and Skype’s accessibility has been less than inspiring as of late. I’m still on Skype desktop 7.4 for this purpose. I know there’s also Skype for business, but from what I’ve read with the experience of others, it too has its issues. So… can anyone recommend a telephone service/product that can be used in conjunction from the PC (Jaws user) and an iPhone that meets all of these requirements? Thanks, Cristóbal

Hi, Tom. It didn’t work for her, because, although she has a laptop, she’s not using Laptop Keyboard Layout. In order for it to work for her, she needed to press JAWS key plus Shift key plus B. She got AC Connected, meaning, she is using her laptop with it plugged in, and is not on battery power.

The percentage should just be announced.
Again, be sure you are hitting both the shift lock and shift keys together before pressing the letter B.
Not sure why this isn’t working for you.

Tom,
Well, still no luck. I have pressed the shift keys on both the left and right of the keyboard together with caps lock and then the letter b. The only thing that happens is that caps lock on and the b is announced, along with a little beep sound to indicate caps on or off.
Should I be arrowing to somewhere or should the percentage just be announced?
Thanks.

Hello listers,
Please help –
I have a laptop and want to know – step by step please - how to find out how much battery power is left before I have to charge it again. Also, does the machine have to be off and plugged in to charge, or will it charge while plugged in and is in use?
Many thanks.

I've installed windows using a normal boot disk. Narrator can be used during the installation. The Thing is how do I restore my hard drive if I have a backup. I've got Linux and windows on the same machine. /Kristoffer 2018-06-26 13:20 GMT+02:00, Kristoffer Gustafsson <kg.kristoffer@...>:

Jaws would be activated. I think with the latest version of windows when you create a bootable disk using windows you can use Narrator to get around on the machine. Depending how your computer is willdetermain what kind of boot disk you create. If you have the efui bios you will probably turn secure boot in the bios. I will gather more info and send it to you. Have a good day.

Most of us, in Settings, Personalization, Taskbar Pane, Notification Area Section, Select which icons appear in the notification area link do not have the toggle for Always show all icons in the notification area set to Off. As a result, only those icons for running programs or system features that have their individual toggles set to ON will always be visible in the main body of the notification area. All other running programs or system features will be in the notification overflow area, which is accessed by activating the notification chevron, which is what you've landed on when you hear it announced. I'd go nuts if many of the system tray/notification area icons that I very seldom need to reference were all to be shown in the notification area. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1803, Build 17134 Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Hello listers,
Please help –
I have a laptop and want to know – step by step please - how to find out how much battery power is left before I have to charge it again. Also, does the machine have to be off and plugged in to charge, or will it charge while plugged in and is in use?
Many thanks.

When using my Windows 7 laptop with Jaws 2018 here, I hit shift capslock B. … This will give me the percentage of charge left in my battery. If the computer is plugged in, it will indicate that the battery is charging.
The battery will charge while using your computer when plugged in. However, it is good to occasionally unplug the laptop in order to let the battery cycle through a charge to preserve its life as long as possible.
