Hi,

Try using the paste feature in the context menu Shift + F10 or app key. For best results, choose one of the paste option. That usually works for me.

And only the table “should be” selected and copied. I find this feature sometimes works great and other times it does not. What makes it work or what makes it not work I don’t know.

Hi Peter,

Try this. On the top or beginning of each table JAWS announces the number of rows and columns in the table. On this announcement press F8. Then control+C and only the table will be selected and copied. HTH

Subject: Can I Copy & print just the table in a web site?

Hello Groups,

My financial web site has important information in a table with 5 columns and 30 rows. This would fit on a single page if I could print only the table. I would like to select, copy and paste it into Word and then print it, with the columns and rows preserved.

The Web page has a “Print Page” button but it prints all of the 4 pages.

I know that Jaws uses the virtual cursor in order to simplify readability. This means that each column item is on a separate line.

I have tried these 2 Quick Setting options (for Firefox 52ESR):

Select and copy from the virtual cursor

and

Select and copy full content using onscreen highlight

Using both settings, I have selected from the beginning of the table, using shift plus down-arrow, to select 30 rows, and then copying to the clipboard. 30 is not enough for the whole table but just enough for sample purposes.

Pasting the clipboard into Word results in each column entry on a separate line.

Is there a way to select and copy only the table and have it appear in Word as a multi column table?

If this is possible, then Word would probably print it in a table structure.

Is there another way without using Word?

Thanks,

Peter T.

If it’s like in Outlook 2010, you can use Control E to get to the search box, then type in some words that you think are in the email and or sender.  Hit Enter than tab a couple times back to the list view to see the search results.

Jaws blankety-blanking happens to me sporadically. The only solution I have found is to unload Jaws and restart it. This is infuriating since it wastes time and shreds my train of thought for whatever I was working on. Then there are the times when Jaws just stops working altogether…. These glitches need fixes!

Hi,

I get the same issue from time to time.  Occurred today in Word 2016 (Office 365).  My solution , that works , is I do a “Alt & Tab” to shift focus to another program that I am running.  Then I ALT Shift back to Word or Outlook and all seems well.  I have never found a cause and situation does not always occur so I can’t duplicate for tech support.  This may not be a universal solution but this gets me by.

Also have a client with the same problem.  Here is what he is experiencing since installing JAWS 2018.

When in a Word document, in an Outlook message, and at times while in an Internet Explorer window, JAWS says "blank" constantly; no matter what I do, it won't read any text. When I've tried employing just the JAWS Cursor, I get this overlapping mishmash of text from various windows that are opened.

The only commonality in all of this seems to be the following:  having Microsoft Word opened. Perhaps, there's some second or "ghost" Word window that's "hanging" or not closing, thereby obstructing the ability of JAWS to read the opened windows? Of course, what makes this frustrating to pin down is that neither of these issues occurs all the time.

Another issue that may or not be related.  When using Word, Outlook, and/or Internet explorer, I hear JAWS say "task switching" whenever I use Alt-Tab. However, many of the functions in the programs aren't accessible to me. This morning, for instance, Insert-F7 wouldn't do anything in Internet Explorer; I had to use the Up and Down Arrow keys to navigate a web page.

Thanks for any clues.  Sharyn

Thank you. That did it! I do remember doing this in Windows 7, but how long ago that was, I can't even remember! LOL. Windows 10 Automatically Reduces System Volume for Games & PC Calls

While you are using your PC to place or receive calls or while you are playing games which use PC calls feature, Windows automatically reduces the system
volume without even asking you.

Actually its a new feature which was introduced in Windows 7 which can be disabled using the following simple steps:

1. Open "Sound" applet from Control Panel.

Or right-click on Speaker icon present in system tray and select "Playback devices" or "Recording devices" or "Sounds" option.

2. Now go to "Communications" tab and check the option "Do nothing" and Apply it.

3. That's it. Now Windows will no longer reduce the system volume.

Second option:

Press JAWS key plus SPACE BAR, then the letter D as in dog. If JAWS says Ducking other audio, this was not the problem. Repeat the steps,

Press JAWS key plus SPACE BAR, then the letter D as in dog.

JAWS should say, Do not duck other audio.

This is where the setting should stay in order that JAWS does not reduce system volume.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Peter T.

Actually to answer the question I believe she is downloading sheet music from Bard as she is a music teacher. I know it is much older technology but hoped perhaps someone had one a while back and used it with BARD and could give some guidance.

My guess is he’s trying to download it in BRF format so he could play it with an instrument. I don’t know if that format is supported with the pacmate or not since the pacmate is so old.

What format is the music in? If possible, he should try to download in mp3.
