Hello Mike:

In my case, when I go to the bottom of the message and UP ARROW once, there is a line containing the link to unsubscribe, followed by a space, then comes my email address, surrounded by square brackets.

Should our email addresses appear at the bottom of our email messages at all. If they should not, then the list owner or the administrators should take steps to prevent it from happening, as soon as possible.

Sincerely:

Hi All,

I noticed something today that I've never noticed before at the bottom of any email that I receive from a Groups.io email list / club.  If I go to the bottom of any email, arrow up a couple of times, and right below the unsubscribe link is my email address!

Would y'all please check any email you get from any Groups.io list you're a member for what I described above, and let me know if you're seeing your email address at the bottom of each email, or if you're seeing someone elses' email address?

All input on this matter will be greatly appreciated!  Thank you very very much!

If you have Office 365, and you left Outlook 2010 installed, there is your problem. Office 365 installs Outlook 2016. You should not be running two versions together. At least that is my understanding. Even though it may not be jaws related, you use Jaws, so I'd highly suggest calling Microsoft accessibility: 1-800-936-5900.

As it does, and has since cyber-time immemorial.

I have no idea why anyone thinks that their e-mail address is private.  It is not, it has never been, when you send a message to anyone.  You, any you, do not send e-mail messages anonymously.  Your e-mail address, as well as a lot of other more detailed information about where the message originated and how it made it to its destination, are part of the headers of each and every e-mail message; it's just that those are not displayed normally because they're not of interest.  E-mail also is not secure in any meaningful sense, either.  It is, and always has been, incredibly simple to intercept and is very, very seldom encrypted.  It's far less secure, both practically and legally, than conventional postal mail is.

Hi, Mike. Here is the reason I believe you are seeing your own email address at the bottom of each email from groups.io. Many email providers such as gmail allow a person with an email address to forward all the email from gmail to another email address. This cuts down on the number of mail boxes one must visit to read all their email. But it does create confusion as to which email address has been subscribed to a group list. Having one’s email address at the bottom of each groups.io email makes it easier to know from which email address an unsubscription notice or other change should be sent to make it effective.

moderated Re: Firefox Quantum, Version 60, and getting to browser control buttons

This just in from Marco Zehe, the gentleman to whom Nermin referred earlier and who has his own blog at  www.marcozehe.de:

Your best bet currently is to use the JAWS touch cursor to access those buttons, and use the equivalent of their DoDefaultAction on each button to execute it. We are currently working on a complete overhaul of keyboard accessibility for the toolbars, but it's not ready yet, and will hopefully be done for Firefox 62 or 63, but no promises. This is rather complicated stuff and will require a lot of testing and adjustment so we really get it right. This has been a long-standing problem, dating back even to before the Quantum days, but has now become more prevalent. However, we first needed to get NVDA and JAWS back into working condition on the core level first before we can now tackle the keyboard UX. So I ask for a little more patience. :)

Dale,

You must hit Windows Key+Prt Sc to have a full screen screen shot automatically saved in the Pictures\Screenshots folder in PNG format.

Hitting PrtSc alone places a full screen screen shot on the clipboard, but if you want to have it saved you need to open an image manipulation program such as Paint, paste it, then save it.

Hi, Netbat. I use Internet Explorer, and it tells me the link is visited, before it describes the link. I am sure there is a setting to determine when it says that a link is visited. I'm sure it is in the configuration settings for JAWS (JAWS key plus six on the numbers row), I just don't know which setting to tell you to change.

control+shift+D to open default Setting Center for all applications and
make your changes there.

2. Arrow down to Speech and Sound Schemes and press right arrow to open.

3. Arrow down to Modify Schemes... and press the spacebar to open.

4. Tab to edit selected scheme button and press the spacebar to open.

5. Control+tab to the Control State tab and tab 1 time into the list of

6. Use first letter navigation, pressing the letter V until you have
Visited...., highlighted and tab 1 time into the behavior list.

7. Arrow down so that Speak Control State is checked.

NowYou'll see that there are other options, like, save slected scheme

all these added steps.

Note: If Jaws still won't announce, Visited Link, make sure you didn't
set the browser to delete browsing history when closed.
that way the visited links wont be announced.

I would check the delete browsing history setting first. That's much
more simple. And if you know you haven't changed this setting and have
deleted browsing history manually, don't do so if you want visited links
to be announced. If you delete browsing history, no links will be
announced as visited until you
go to the site again, follow a link, then read the same link again after

Subject: Groups.iio All List Query

Hi All,

I noticed something today that I've never noticed before at
the bottom of any email that I receive from a Groups.io
email list / club. If I go to the bottom of any email,
arrow up a couple of times, and right below the unsubscribe
link is my email address!

Would y'all please check any email you get from any
Groups.io list you're a member for what I described above,
and let me know if you're seeing your email address at the
bottom of each email, or if you're seeing someone elses'
email address?

All input on this matter will be greatly appreciated! Thank
you very very much!
Take Care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

Hello,

I was attempting to get some documentation from a web site. There was a link to get a PDF file. Once the PDF was open I couldn’t get past the first page. I would do a control page down and would not change to the next page. Is there a different key stroke I should be using now using Windows 10 and Jaws2018?

Hi:

What is the best way to take a screenshot and save it to a file?

Thank you.
