The thing that got me in trouble was following Googles advice.

For outlook to work I had to use the old way of connect to gmail.

Google says that it is not secure but, it was so secure I could not get into my own email “smile”

Turn off two factor authentication.  It makes it a nightmare to use a very great many e-mail clients.

That, or make certain that Outlook 2016 is in the list of allowed apps.

1. Go to your Google Account page.

2. In the Sign-In & Security Section, activate the Apps with account access link.

3. Under the Apps with access to your account be sure that Outlook is listed.

4. Search for the Signing in to Google link and activate it.

5. Under the Password & Sign-in Method section, locate the 2-step Verification control and, if it's not already off, activate it.

I currently have 2-step Verification off and do not wish to turn it back on to complete the remaining steps, but I presume they will be quite straightforward if you follow the prompts presented.

Hello, everyone.

I just installed the latest build of Jaws 2018—version 1805.33, and I am now able to attach documents to an e-mail at least some of the time.

What I mean is that the process works, but not consistently.

I have tried the various suggestions I have been given for attaching files, and they all seem to work at least most of the time.

However, there still are some times when Outlook e-mail completely crashes, irrespective of the attachment method I use.

My next steps will likely be to see what happens with either NVDA or Narrator to help determine if this is a Jaws issue.

Will keep everyone posted.

Once again, I’m using Outlook 2016 with Office 365 here, along with Jaws 2018 on this windows 7 computer.

I got my Gmail account working again and it sent two messages that were in my outbox

I would still like to find out if there is a keystroke to read outloud the percentage when files are being copied or downloaded?

Hi, Nino. From the nature of your question, I assume that you are attempting to get a percentage of files copied on Windows 10. Here’s what I have had to do to get this to work reliably in Windows 10.

1. Start the copy process.

2. Press JAWS key plus S until it says All.

3. Now you will here your percentages.

4. Once you reach 100 percent, Press JAWS key plus S again until it says Highlighted.

5. Do steps one through four, each time you are copying files.

Hello Again,

My sister viewed the emails after I made the Outlook change to HTML.  She said the graphics are still messed up.  Is there an additional setting I should look at for just forwarding messages?  Still puzzled on what to do.

I’m not Brian, but as far as checking which format you are using, hit alt+f then t for options.  \

Arrow down  once to mail, and tab twice and it should say, compose in this format.  If it says html, then you are using html for sending.

If it doesn’t, arrow up or down until you get to html and then hit enter or tab to OK and hit enter.

I do not recall ever making a choice for plain text.  Where can I confirm this in Outlook?

I can forward you a message off list if you provide me the email address for this.  Smile.  I did not keep the ones we recently had this experience with, but I will forward a similar one which I believe will show the situation.

         Are you, by any chance, having Outlook force your incoming e-mail messages to plain text?  Since a very great many e-mail messages are in HTML format when they get forced to plain text a lot of what was contained in them, particularly graphics, gets mangled.  You also lose information that's involved with those graphics.

         I always strongly discourage my clients from forcing plain text because of the potential for lost content that's hard to describe, but is there if you leave the message "unmolested" from its format of composition.

         If you're not forcing plain text if an example of one of these messages can be forwarded to me I might be able to figure out what's going on just by examining what comes in.
