Hello list,

With Firefox 60.0.1, I keep getting the pasted alert below. I don’t seem to be able to access/interact with it or otherwise dismiss it. I know if has to do with the new privacy features in Firefox which is fine, but I’d like to be able to disable this alert, find out where this shield is that it keeps talking about and also be able to see what this whole 1 of 3 “next” part is.

Does anyone know how to access this particular notification/alert with Jaws? Tabbing with F6 to the address bars and whatnot doesn’t’ seem to work. Nor does poking around with the Jaws cursor.

I don't know of any benefit, it's just the way I've been using it for years,
and have found no drawback to having it set that way. You can always try it
unchecked, and if something isn't working the way you'd like it, then
recheck the box and see if it works better the way I have it.

unchecked to prevent the screen moving while browsing? is there a
benefit to having it checked?

Hello list,

I was poking around Firefox after reupgrading to V 60.0.1 and going
through the various settings to make sure everything is how I want it
and came across the below:

Use hardware acceleration when available Alt+Shift+r

 Use autoscrolling Alt+Shift+a

 Use smooth scrolling Alt+Shift+m

So, since I rarely ever deal with these particular settings, I forgot
what is advised. Whether to check or uncheck these three options? On the
latest Jaws 2018 May update and it is much better than the first go
around with Firefox 60.

Can anyone give me a refresher and what these three settings actually do?

Thanks,

Hi. Got sql server 2017, and sql management studio 2017.7, express 64 bit pro. Latest version. Windows 10 1803 64 bit pro and jaws 2018.1805.33 64 bit pro on a Toshiba satellite pro c-50-a laptop. Now, is there any good free accessible tool to repair corrupted sql databases. Have a whole bunch of databases, mdf format, scripts, .sql files and .back bacup files. Now, when I try to create a new database, and put in my name, then click add, then ok. Gives me an error message, empty database. So try two or three times again, same issue. Have tried using the built in sql management studio tools I googled, but did not help. Cannot attach my databases, cannot restore the databases, and cannot import the .back scripts. So, is there a tool, and any one else run into this issue.

Thanks.

You need to save the file somewhere else and then import it into outlook. Then the appointments will show up on your calendar. I doubt that you can import the file if the file is on the calendar. Perhaps you need to call microsoft accessibility to get more information.

Hi,

I've come across this issue.

The only way I was able to resolve it was to completely remove JAWS and shared components including OpenBook if that is installed.

Reboot the PC, install JAWS again, and run the repair and the error message will go away.

All the best,

Hi all!

Since I upgraded to windows10 1803 the spring version my key echo is working really really weird. If I'm in notepad, wordpad, or word the key echo works fine. However, if I'm surfing the internet doesn't matter which browser, internet explorer 11, chrome, or firefox the key echo gives gibberish. And random gibberish. However, if I flip over to notepad, word, it works correctly.

I asked vfo group they suggested running repair on jaws. so I did.

The repair process starts runs upto 70% and then gives the following error.

jaws the repair has failed
the setup has failed to process the "fsWow64Proxy" component restart
the computer and re-run the setup program

error code:
80070666

Note: I've rebooted and re ran the repair process several times.
Have written vfo support, but anyone got an idea what this means etc?

Cause you all know how long it takes vfo support to get back to a person.

Thanks

p.s.

I'm running windows10 1803 patched upto date Jaws
J2018.1805.33.400-enu-x64.exe

The computer has a Realtek hd audio card. Use to work fine in windows10 1709 version. My restore point didn't work so can not roll back.

I get that message from time to time too. I think sometimes this is the site experiencing a technical hick-up, and at others it seems to be a crash on my Apex. That’is sometimes I can exit, re-enter the FB page URL and at least resume with other things (but not what I was viewing), and other times I must reset my unit and login all over again. It baffles me too, but I’ve come to accept as part of viewing FB with my BN Apex. Shalom,

Hi Louise,

I had this same problem a couple of days ago.  Go to the bottom of your page and click on “report a problem”.  Follow the instructions and type in the edit box what the issue is and then click on submit.  I did this two different times and within a day or so the problem was fixed.  Hope this helps.

Good luck,
