Hi Carina,

I understand your frustration very well, as I am experiencing the same problems. Unfortunately for us, this is a known issue with Office. The Microsoft Disability Answer Desk is aware of the problem, and they told me that they notified FreedomScientific. So I’m afraid we have to wait for JAWS and/or office updates that will restore full accessibility to the comment pane.

In the meantime, consider trying Narrator and/or NVDA. I myself have tried both, and both interact with the comment pane better than JAWS. However, even these screen readers run into trouble; they interact with some comments fine, but not at all with others. I’m sorry I cannot help more.

Michal

Dear list

I need to mark a truck-load of student essays, for
which I rely on track changes and comments in MS Word (the Office app,
ran from my desktop). Jaws frequently (and randomly) loses focus once
I'm in the comment pane (alt+control+m to insert a comment). Using f6
to cycle back to the body text or escape aren't working with anything
like regularity. The only way to return focus to the text is to close
and open the actual document, yielding a ridiculously time-consuming
process. From what Jaws announces when there is a loss of focus, I
get the impression that it switches (unprompted) from print view to
web view. Opening the view menu and returning to print view resolves
the problem momentarily, but again Jaws somehow returns to web view. I
don't know whether this issue is what frustrates the 'comments'
functionality.Can anyone assist, please?

Bordering on severe desperation!
Best

Correct. And as we’re almost in the middle of May . . . Both VFO and the Mozilla folks have stated that V 60 was the target release for Jaws compatibility. And indeed, for the most part, Jaws seems to be “working”, but there are these lingering issues that are making the user experience a challenge.

My RSS thing was resolved. Turns out No Script which I had enabled was blocking javascript which was basically breaking some webpages.

This Jaws randomly pausing thing though is becoming quite annoying though. That and there’s been an issue with Jaws losing focus for a while now where you either have to maximize the screen or tab/shift plus tab for the virtual buffer or whatever it’s called to come back. Often multiple times on the same page. This focus issue along with the random speech pausing is making the user experience less than ideal. I think I may go back to an earlier version. Also, I’m noticing when clicking on some links, Jaws will just go to the desktop or a blank screen where I’ll have to do an alt plus tab to get back to Firefox.

In short, While useable, I’m not sure Jaws and Firefox 60 are quite there yet…

Hi, I'm actually not having that problem all my RSS feeds are there in the list as they should be. The page is extremely slow to load though. Also I'm having a strange problem with long hesitations while reading with JAWS and Firefox 60. This could be because I went from Windows 10 version 1709, to 1803, and back to 1709 again, but it could also be a problem with JAWS.

Hi, I recommend WordPress. The version you install and set up yourself, (on server space that you rent from a web host,) is more accessible than wordpress.com. Wordpress.com is OK, but the post editor isn't easy to use. Well that's just the opinion of someone who doesn't like rich text lol.

Yes, if a value referenced in a formula is moved to another cell, then the formula is automatically updated to the new location.
One note, when moving the value, use cut and paste, or it will not work.

Hi All

I am using latest version of Jaws and Office 365.

I have Wiondows 10.

Most of the time Jaws cannot keep up when I type in either Word or Outlook.

Implication is that I almost type in total silence – not hearing what I am doing.

What is the problem and how can it be fixed?

Weird as it may sound, but there is the odd day that the problem does not exist and Jaws speaks letter by letter as I type.

Thanks.

I just tested it and it worked for my examples. If you have a cell on one sheet referencing a cell on a different cheat that you subsequently copy and move to another area or it is moved because you added columns or rows, then the cell reference on the first sheet will automatically update.

Hello. The correct term is Linking.
I have a budget workbook with an income worksheet, a cash flow worksheet
and an allocated spending plan worksheet.
When my income changes in my income worksheet, it changes on my cash
flow plan and allocated spending plan worksheet.
Here is how it works.
Cell B7 on my income worksheet contains my income.
I need my income to be in cell c46 of my cash flow worksheet so I enter
the formula =income!b7 in cell c46.
I also need my income to be in cell d3 of myallocated spending plan
worksheet so I enter the formula =income!b7 in cell d3.
I hope that this helps.

I'm not sure what you mean by grouping worksheets. Yu can rename and
reorder than using alt+h, then o, then r to rename and alt+h, then o, then m
to move them.

moderated office 365 and a slow Jaws?

Thanks.
