Hi John,
assuming that the files are somewhere in your personal folder, you can do this from the search box in the start menu. Normally when you search for files using the start menu, it only searches the names of files. However, if you filter the search results for documents, then the contents are searched as well. To do this:
1. In the search box, type in a word or phrase as normal.
2. Tab twice to move to the filters list, which is laid out as a row of items.
3. Press right arrow to move to find results in documents, and press enter. The focus returns to the search box, and Jaws reads out the first item in the filtered list of results.

Highlight the Album or Song you wish to change.
Press the Applications key (or Shift+F10) to bring up a context menu.
Select "Get Info".
Edit as you desire.
Press on OK when done.

You can also change this information in Windows Explorer (I have Windows 7).
Highlight all the songs in your folder.
Again use the App key.
Select properties.
Ctrl+Tab to the Summary page.
Edit those fields that are common to all the songs (e.g. Album, artist,
genre, year).
Press on Okay.

Hi, Mario. What I experience with Windows 10 is this:

If I do a search for pistachio on my hard drive, I may or may not get a list of files containing the word pistachio. I'm refering to what is inside the file, not the name of the file. In many cases, I get the following:

Hi, David. I believe what John is asking is if there is a way to search
for files in Windows 10 based on words contained inside files. This used
to be possible in Windows XP, and I believe it is one thing we cannot
now do since Windows 7. I miss this feature. I used to have a folder of
recipes, and I could, for example, search for any of those text files
that contain the word pistachio. This was nice, because it made it easy
to find anything on the drive. It also used to be easier to change which
drive was searched.

Subject: Using note pad and read line key stroke

I couldn't find any notepad files under user settings. How would I get to
the notepad files?

Cheers,

Kevin

unload JAWS, and reload JAWS by pressing windows+r, type jaws followed
by the version you're using) /default, and press enter. now open
notepad, load a text file and issue the read line keystroke again. do
you get the same message?

if you do, navigate to your user settings and see if you have any
setting files for notepad. if you do, delete them, launch Notepad, load
a text file and issue the read line keystroke again. did the message get
announced again?

if so, you'd might want to do a repair.

Hello, I'm in note pad reading a document. There are times when I use the
jaws key and up arrow on the num pad and it says "unkown script call to:
reading Jaws version." What is causing this to occur? It doesn't happen in
MS word. Cheers Kevin

I unloaded Jaws, went to run and typed in jaws18 /default. Jaws came back up. I could tell it was the default as it was speaking very slow.

I then went into notepad and using the read line keys the text that Jaws read prior to the line no longer occurs. So now what?

but there shouldn't be any. so if you checked, assuming you know how,
and there aren't any, that's good.

but did you try loading JAWS with it's defaults (insert+f4, spacebar,
windows+r, type JAWS followed by the version you're using followed by a
space and a slash and the word default, press enter), and trying the
read line with notepad, did the message still announce?

if so, consider performing a repair on JAWS.

Hi,

Using: W10 64 bit and Jaws 2018

An update message was just received from Future System Solutions  advising to update my Casper 8.0 to version 10.

Has anyone tried out Casper version 10  with Jaws 2018 and if so, is 10 accessible?

Thanks

Tom
