I use the spacebar most of the time to activate things, press buttons,

                                Hi Rick,

I used to use Evite easily, but recently I got an invite through Evite and couldn’t get the link to work, either. Don’t know why. But I just used the phone number for the hosts and gave them a verbal confirmation. They put it in for me. Maybe someone else has been able to use it, but this has been my experience.

Hi:

I am sory to say that qcast does not work very well.

Does anybody know of any other pod cachers for windows that would work with Jaws.

Every time I try to submit a report to the qcast developer I get an error and the report does not get submitted, I hate to say I would not waste $10 on the program.

If anybody knows of a pod cacher that works with Jaws let me know.

Thanks.

Hi,

I may be showing my lack of braille knowledge, but you can try the following:

for six-key braille, the at sign should be dot 4 and for eight-cell, try dots 4 and 7.

For the period, that depends on whether you want a period or a decimal point.
The traditional period in dot six is dots 2, 5 and 6.
The decimal point is dots 4 and 6.

I do not know if there is a way for eight-dot writing of these characters.

One other item to try because it sounds like the root of your problem is
that JAWS isn't going into forms mode where the slider is. Turn off the VPC
on this page once with ins+z and make sure it is off. If it happens to not
go off immediately, which I've experienced, alt+tab away and back. Then tab
through the page and see if you get to a slider or a number and try the left
and right arrows again.

Its possible you need a newer version of JAWS. You should download it and
see if that makes any difference.

JAWS 16, i.e. 11. It doesn't say "slider", just has the no-link list of
options. Just tried right-arrowing to the desired choice, then entering,
and, as I suspected, didn't get the desired result.

Yesterday, a friend sent me the link to the Googlesearch page, and I found
the same results. Doing further research before that (I'm like a dog with a
bone―I can't let it go), I learned that sometimes your cookie settings can
screw things up, so, now wonder if the page doesn't represent correctly
unless you allow all cookies―though that really doesn't make sense, because
I have the settings I had when I was able to make it happen probably a year
ago. There may be cookie settings in CCleaner that do need changing in order
for it to work, but I'm having trouble making changes there, too.

So, any further input from you and others, still appreciated. Until I can
get a "sightee" to look at it and maybe make it happen, I am still willing
to plug away. Thanks!

What browser and version of JAWS are you using? With the latest version of
JAWS in Chrome or Internet Explorer, are you hearing JAWS talk about a
slider just after the heading that talks about the number of search results?
If so you should be able to press enter on the item JAWS calls a slider and
have Forms Mode turn on. Then use the left or right arrows to adjust the
slider and save the new setting.

If so, does unplugging the mouse change anything?
I used to be frustrated to no end when I had a computer with a physical mouse that would throw focus off. For years now, I've had a laptop with the mouse pad and I disable the mouse pad if I'm using the laptop keyboard instead of an external usb keyboard to avoid the same problem.

Hello, I have a spread sheet setup with many columns. Then down 300 rows is a total row. For some reason when I’m on the total row which has a formula for all values in the column, Jaws is reading the value in the second row of the same column before it reads the actual value in the cell. Is there a setting in Jaws causing this or is something in Excel I need to change?

You could look under verbocity, "jaws key+v", or do a "ctrl+f3" to see about regions.

I did try and couldn’t get it to work. At least I thought it didn’t work. What is odd is the headings are two rows up from where the actual value is read. So it says the number in the cell when I’m down in a lower cell in the same column. Is there a way to check if the title and range are setup?

Could you have titles or regions going?

Hello, I have a spread sheet setup with many columns. Then down 300 rows is a total row. For some reason when I’m on the total row which has a formula for all values in the column, Jaws is reading the value in the second row of the same column before it reads the actual value in the cell. Is there a setting in Jaws causing this or is something in Excel I need to change?

What browser and version of JAWS are you using?  With the latest version of JAWS in Chrome or Internet Explorer, are you hearing JAWS talk about a slider just after the heading that talks about the number of search results?  If so you should be able to press enter on the item JAWS calls a slider and have Forms Mode turn on.  Then use the left or right arrows to adjust the slider and save the new setting.

Hello,

Trying to change my Googlesearch # of results to 100, but all I see, when I get there, is a list of from 10 to 100 desired; it doesn’t appear to have actual links to click on, just a vertical list. I have tried to click on them with spacebar and enter, but obviously, nothing happens. So, what’s up with that? Any ideas for how to proceed? Thanks, in advance.

Right. You have to say yes and then press the install button to start the download.

Hello all:

Am I correct in understanding that it's only the notification of an available update that's "automatic", and not the download itself?

Thank you,
