Hi Again Cal,

Below are the steps on how to turn off automatic updating in Firefox 3.6.
1. While on the Firefox Home Page, Press Alt + T, for tools, & press the
letter O, for options. You will now be in a List Box.
2. Arrow up or down until you land on the Advanced option.
3. Tab 1 time & you will be in a whole new set of tabs. They are labeled as
follows;
General, Network, Update, & Encryption.
4. Arrow up or down until you land on the update Tab. Tab 1 time & you will
hear, " automatically check for updates to," Firefox, checkbox. If this box
is checked, press the spacebar to uncheck it.
5. Now, tab to okay, press enter, to close, & take you back to the Home
Page.

While tabbing to the okay button you will have noticed that there are some
other important / interesting options in this Update Tab as well.

Hope this helps. Take care.
Mike

it automatically updates. Is there any way to disable this feature or stop

Re: Firefox

Adrian Spratt

Yes. Go to tools with alt-t, then options with o. control-shift-tab three or
four times until you hear add-ons. Click on that button. When you locate
Webvisum, tab until you hear "disable." Webvisum will stay in that same
location, so you can return there to re-enable it.

I find Webvisum slows down the loading of FF, so I've often disabled it.

Rose,

I would definitely continue to refuse it.

You can turn this off in Internet Explorer ... Tools/Options. Then Advanced
Page. In the list look for Browsing. Then right under that, turn off the
option to automatically check for IE updates.

Then OK to close.

If any websites (I've not found any yet) don't like IE9 there is a compatability mode under the tools menu which makes it act like IE8. When IE9 first came out using the compatability mode worked great but there doesn't seem to be a need for it anymore with the websites I visit.

I have noticed at times that it is important to read what is posted on to your clipboard as sometimes I have found that the last letter of the captcha is omitted. I find that I sometimes have to type in what I heard manually before it can be entered properly. I haven't contacted them about this though.

Hi! I've been having some problems using webvism lately. There are times when I'll try to solve a CAPTCHA and I won't be able to see the result after I've pasted it into the appropriate field and then gone out of forms mode. Lately, though, the problem I seem to be having is where it doesn't seem to solve the CAPTCHA at all and when I go to paste it from my clipboard into the appropriate space I only copy the previous item that happened to be on my clipboard. Has anyone else run into these problems and can tell me if I'm doing something wrong? They don't seem to answer their mail there anymore. Thank you.

Probably she has to take out any unnecessary data ; as for the major
rate of response is quite relevant to the average range of promptness
on your computer.
Another theory is to repair JAWS ; I sincerely hope that's help.

Re: [Bulk] Jaws responds slowly to keystrokes

Dave...

Sounds like a reboot would be the first thing to try. If that doesn't do it
then do a JAWS repair. If not that, then look at the keyboard or mouse to
see if there's a button that's stuck in a contact position. If not that,
then whack the computer with the palm of your hand and head for the nearest
Best Buy.

Sounds like there may be some other process running that's grabbing a whole
lot of computer resources. Is there an anti-virus scanning in the
background, or a file backup? How about if there's one of those
computer-based or Microsoft automatic updates going on? Take a look in the
system tray for these types of things.

Subject: [Bulk] Jaws responds slowly to keystrokes

Hi All,

Afriend is having a problem with her keystroke response time & we're trying
to figure out if it is a Jaws issue. Here is what she has to say.

I'm using Jaws 11 on a laptop and desktop both using Windows XP. On both of
them, I can wait several seconds after I have pressed a key, before
Jaws either echoes it or responds to it.

Do any of you have any ideas as to how I can decrease the wait? All help
will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much, take care.
Mike

Is the list still active or just very few people subscribed to it? I haven't
seen it this quiet in a... well, never.

Re: Jaws 10 & Firefox 5

inthane <inthaneelf@...>

no one is using FF 5, web visum doesn't work with it, I would uninstall and reinstall 3.6 myself or I also have the installer for 4.0 here if you want that, web visum works with it.

Hi
Is there anyone on this list who is using Jaws 10 as their main version
who is also using Firefox 5? Are there any problems I should know about? I
am having a great deal of trouble using Firefox 3.6. It is crashing most of
the time when I attempt to close it. Thanks for your help.

Marsha
