while it might be possible if there is a file containing the phonemes, I
don't imagine that it would be editable due to the complexity involved
in doing so. I realize you tried using the dictionary but the dictionary
is the only way of adding custom pronounciations of words that I know
of. adding vowels, spaces, doubling letters and capitalizing particular
letters can change how certain words are pronounced. to get the closest
pronounciation you want, it's really a matter of tweeking the
pronounciation. use some program like Notepad and copy and paste the
original word twice so you have the correct spelling while you work on
the second. it might be challenging but patience will eventually pay off.

Hi, it's Annabelle.
Out of curiosity, where would I find the phoneme list for Eloquence? The
reason I ask this is because I am trying to make a specific pronunciation in
the dictionary manager, but it seems regular letters still won't make the
new pronunciation sound right to me. Also, is it possible to make a user
lexicon for JAWS? If so, what do I do?

Hi all,

I didn’t get a response about this and I wondered if it was because the subject line was not very good.

I am looking for a program that I can use with either jaws 18 or jaws 2018 to transfer text messages from my iPhone to my computer.

ITunes (which is anything but useful) will make a backup but they are encrypted and you can’t get to them.

I want to be able to make a back up that I can read on the computer. I need to save a lot of them they are kind of important to me.

Anyone know of a program that works to do this?

Thanks Shannon

Hi tom!  Your copy of Fusion came with JAWS training materials that are absolutely free.  These training materials are complete with audio and html which will allow you to follow along with the instructor.  When in JAWS, go to your help menu, and find the option that says Training.  When you click on it, your FS reader should open, and you will find a list of training materials there.  If they don’t reside on your computer now, you can download them for free.  I hope this information is helpful, and good luck with learning JAWS.

Is evernote more accessible?

I was looking at OneNote, but I can’t seem to create I guess I would call it a book, then sections in that book, and then individual notes under each section, like I can on Mac Journal.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I just about live in Excel for my business and while it would be untrue to say there aren’t issues or haven’t been issues, I would say that 98% of the time it works very well.

I believe there still is an issue where Excel crashes if you try to type a formula with Jaws running, e.g. you start out with an equals sign, but that can be fixed by turning auto-complete off.

Hi, Van. When putting in search terms, I would include the words External Computer Speaker/s. This is because most speakers don’t contain any amplification within them. Often, computer speakers do. This might be especially important if using a laptop with a modest wattage on the output for the speakers. You might need amplification if the wattage is too low on the sound, and especially if you are connecting the external speakers through the headphone jack on the laptop. This is because the output of the headphone jack is often attenuated or somewhat turned down so as not to cause damage to headphones or ears. Because the output is turned down on the headphone jack, amplification might come in especially handy.

Hi,

Even though I have a laptop, I sometimes plug in my old desktop speakers to have a little better sound quality or volume when working.  These old speakers are on the fritz.  What is the current trend for external speakers?  I don’t’ want to spend much, nor am I  listening to music and movies that would require high sounds quality.   Frankly, I only need even just one speaker, not stereo sounds.   I’m afraid if I just enter “external speaker” in Amazon search, the results will be too  broad.   Any tips?

Van Lant, Robin

Another way I have done this kind of project is the following.

1.       Save a copy of your full scanned book so you have a backup copy.

2.       In a new copy, move to the end of that first section you want to copy, for example, you want to copy pages 1 through 5, so you’d move to the end of page 5.

3.       Now, while holding down the Control and Shift keys, hit the home key.  This selects all the text from where your cursor was, to the beginning of the document.

4.       Hit Control x to cut it, and then paste in into the new document you wish to create.  Save that document and close it.

5.       When you return to the first document, the section you just cut is gone, so you can simply start the process over.   I do this with large spreadsheets I need to break down into individual files to send to various people and it helps me keep track of what I have already copied and what is left to still divide up.

Now I need to split the book into chapters.

I am copying and pasteing the book, is there a faster way.

In word is there a way to mark the beginning where you want to copy and then at the ending point put a mark so you can either delete every thing between the marks or copy it to a blank document?

I am using copy and paste it is very tedius I just thought if there was a quicker way to do it I would ask.

Thank you.

Hi,

well, with JAWS, you can do the following:

  • Mark the beginning of the part you wish to select by pressing CTRL+Windows-key+k.
  • Then go to the end of the section you wish to select and press the layered keystroke JAWS-key+Spacebar, followed by m. JAWS shoud lsy something like: selected.
  • Now, you can execute the standard copy or cut command.

Another solution would be to keep all of the content in the document and insert breaks using the appropriate Word Page Layout commands.

Best regards,

Aleksander

Betreff: Msword 16 and jaws and copy and paste

Hi:

I scaned a large book using openbook, I converted the book to a docx format.

Thank you.

Have you tried exporting the folders using the POP and then importing to
IMAP?

See if the Import/Export dialog in the File menu works.

Hello all: Actually, what I was wondering about was moving all the folders
over from a pop to an imap account. Folder navigation has proven so fraught
with difficulty. Anyone have advice on that?

It's a matter of changing the port numbers, and sometimes the server names
themselves. I am using Outlook 2010 with IMAP as I write this.

The only thing you may notice is occasional error messages about Outlook
being unable to sync with the servers.

Hi all: I'm contemplating moving my outlook 1010 email account from a pop
server to imap. Is there an easy way to do that?
