Re: accessible uninstall program

Mario

if you're looking to try something different, I've heard the best
uninstaller is call geek uninstaller. You can get this uninstaller at
www.geekuninstaller.com

When you down load the file it will come in a zip folder so you don’t
have to install this because it’s portable. just use 7zip to
uncompressed it and start using it.

it is also compatible with all screen readers and versions of Windows.

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good uninstall program? I know windows has one, but
as far as I am aware the standard windows uninstaller tends to leave parts
of files on your PC. I used to use Revo uninstall which uninstalls
programs but then scans for left over traces of the program and then removes
those two, but it looks like this doesn't work with jaws, so I was just
wondering if anyone's has any alternative suggestions which work well with
jaws?

Some laptop manufacturers install a lot of what's generally known as
bloatware. Only way to really get rid of this and start with a clean
slate is to make a Windows 10 USB installation stick, make sure you
have all your data on an external drive or in the cloud and then
reinstall Windows 10 from scratch including deleting all partitions,
re-partitioning and formatting the hard drive or SSD.
Once you are done reinstall Jaws and instal the applications you want.

Sieghard

! I have now removed eset Nov32, but there are still quite a few
things on here which i'd be frightened to remove. One of them is
Levono settings, another is Levono companion. I've also got office
365, and some others which were on when i got the computer.

I have tried N.v.d.a, and this seems to be a bit quicker at starting
up than Jaws.Hi

I may have to do a Windows recovery on my old laptop. Will doing so save my documents, folders and such?

Hi Everyone,

I am using JAWS 16 on a Windows 10 machine. One problem that I often face on this laptop is that, when I press enter on a particular file to open it, another file gets opened instead. Those two files may be located adjacent to each other, or they may be at a great distance from each other. Similarly, in Firefox, this often happens with links
- I press enter on link A and link B gets opened instead.

I'd be grateful if people here could offer me pointers to figure out how I can deal with this problem. It results in the wastage of a lot of time.

Best,
Rahul

line indents

Juan Hernandez

Hi All,

Is there a command that tells me the indentation of a line? Or can I add it to the ins+f format command information?

Thanks.

Re: Skeduler for turning computer on and off

OK, I'm back with a report on starting a Mac on a schedule. I was dubious, and frankly expected failure. But no! At six o'clock this morning, as my four-legged alarm-clock awoke us, I heard the familiar Apple bong. Amazing!

As the excellent help from another lister shows you can set your PC to Power on  by timer or LAN.

Wake on LAN is a technology that allows a network professional to remotely power on a computer or to wake it up from sleep mode. By remotely triggering

the computer to wake up and perform scheduled maintenance tasks, the technician does not have to physically visit each computer on the network.

Every version of Windows back to at least XP,maybe even further, has a program called Task Scheduler. You can certainly add a task to shut the machine down in there. Starting it again, though, I don't think is possible. In fact, I'd go out on a limb to say it is absolutely positively not possible. Think about it: How would a device that's quiet, not taking power, not responsive to any stimuli either internal or external, know, or be told by some external force, that it's time to turn on?

I was hoping that there would be a way to shut the computer down at acertain time?

Any help would be appreciated.
