Weird Windows script error and wrong file names in downlowder

N K Shackelford

I keep suddenly getting these script error messages, and now, file names in Mipony are wrong--every file name is "scriptnative_render.js." What can I do about this?  It seemed to start yesterday when I used Internet Explorer for a bit; even after I've gone back to Firefox as my default browser, it is still happening. Any help is appreciated.

Nance

Qcast contact us policy is abysmal.  I have contacted them at least 3 times regarding an ongoing issue over the last few months.  They have yet to get back to me even once over this issue.  Subsequently, they may have a blind developer, however, they do not get back to ones who have paid for their service.  Thus, I give them 1 * for customer service.

Re: Speech on Demand

Tom <tomcat509@...>

Hi Bill,

Followed your instructions below and found  the setting is already set to less speech options, speech on demand  but changed it and then changed it back prior to pressing enter on OK.  Unfortunately nothing has changed.  i.e. pressing insert space then s just gives two options, speech on and speech off.

I’ll contact F S soon to see what the problem is and how to fix it.

The Jaws about section definitely shows 2018.1802.78.

Thanks for all your help.

Tom

Hi, Tom. JAWS should not say Speech Off. It should say Speech Mute. If you press INSERT plus SPACE, S again, it should say Full Speech.

Try the following.

1. Open JAWS Settings Center.

2. In the search box, type the word speech.

3. Arrow down to Speech options, and press ENTER.

4. Open Speech Options with Right Arrow.

5. Arrow down to Less Speech Options

6. When you Arrow down to Less Speech Options, if it says Speech Mute, press Space once.

7. It will say Speech On Demand.

8. TAB to the OK box and press ENTER.

Now, when you press JAWS key plus SPACE, S, it should toggle between Full Speech and Speech On Demand.

jaws 2018 is so flaky.

i played around for more then 30 minutes after i logged in. i also logged in and out several times with different results most of the time.
sometimes it works fine and i can just press enter on the buttons and links and i can get the info. without haveing to use any of the jaws hot keys.
i can tell that the screen is changeing when i click on the buttons and links but jaws will not speak these screen changes.
it looks like firefox is hanging
it will just sit there saying working until i alt tab away and back to firefox. then jaws will find the account balances and everything works again without the jaws hot keys.
it speaks the text if i find them with the mouse too.
all i get useing the jaws alt m is could not move to element or something. i get this every time i tried this

Hello. I use the Wells Fargo web site every day without any difficulties at
all. I'm using Windows 10 with JAWS 2018 and the VFO recommended version of
Firefox. The layout is different but accessible. Here are the steps I use to
get to my accounts.
1. I log into the Wells Fargo web site.
2. I press the B keyhstroke until JAWS says "Accounts Button Collapsed.
3. I press the Enter key.
4. I press the JawsKey+Alt+M keystroke to move to the Control Element. You
must be on the Accounts button to do this.
5. JAWS puts you on the View All Accounts in one place link.
6. Press the Enter key to activate the link.
7. Use the B keystroke to find the appropriate account button.
Press the Enter key to get access to your account.
Once you're in the account area there's a button to switch accounts which
bbrings up a list of buttons for each account.
The Wells Fargo web site uses Aria. Once you get used to the layout, it
should work fine for you. I use billpay, transfer money and send money with
Zel.
I hope this helps.

Hi Audrey!

Quite agree about windows coming on straight away. I'm on the latest version of Jaws and windows 10.

I contacted the Microsoft disability desk on Monday, and I must say, she gave my computer a good clean up. She tried switching it on then off, and said how slow it was.

She said there was nothing actually wrong with the settings, but said that my Eset Nov32 antivirus could be slowing things down. I have now removed that, and hope that defender has come on itself. We'll have to see if it boots up any quicker! If it doesn't, then i don't know what else i can do.

I have also been getting a lot of error reports, and have ticked the box to let Freedom Scientific know.

Hi Joe,

That percentage count is the amount of processed pages by adobe before opening the pdf file. The bigger the file the longer the wait. I have a JQuery tutorial file that is over 500pages long and that takes a while. I usually start it and move on to something else.

Good Afternoon Folks

I am running JAWS 2018 with last weeks update with Windows 10. Has anyone experienced when Adobe is scanning the document for reading that it is reading the pages as a percentage? I was generating a billing document and this was a 400 plus page document and it kept reading the pages as a percentage rather than the page number. Just curious as today is the first day that I have opened a pdf since I updated JAWS.

Now to my question which is related . When I print a particular page from the document after the page prints Adobe rescans the document  for reading. Is there a way to not have it do that ? Or is it necessary? I had about 6 pages to print from this document and it wanted to rescan each time and finally just got sighted assistance which is not always readily available.

Thanks

I really like the program and find it much easier for me to use than other programs. Once you have added files, you will see a burn button when tabbing. It does not show up without anything in the file list. One last thing, if you use the feature where the files are verified, it will take much longer to burn. I believe the ratio is something like 5 minutes or less to burn without to about 20 minutes to burn and verify. Enjoy.
