Re: Firefox ESR 52.5 64 bit

If I use Google to search for "Firefox ESR", the first page returned in the
search results is
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/
on which there's a link to the download. It took less than 30 seconds to find
that.

I have put it on my web site. I'll leave it there until Firefox 60 comes out. Sorry if you wanted the 32 bit version. I suspect it could be found at Mozilla's web site.
But, if you want the 64 bit version, follow this link and save it to your hard drive.

GV-Knope, John (Greenville)

I listened to FSCast 149 this morning. FS is recommending that users of FireFox drop back to the extended release version 52 until the May release of FireFox 60.

The current issue is that FireFox 57+ is using a multiprocessor, sandbox, approach to render web content. This is denying JAWS access to the content. Check out FSCaset 149 for more detail.

I am not sure how to obtain version 52.

I think this would be true of any type of internet browser. If you delete everything but passwords this will improve performance. You can also do this through Disk cleanup within file explorer.

If you still have the installer for Firefox version 52, you might want to remove Firefox and try reinstalling it. I'm using Firefox 52 with Windows 10, and am having no sluggishness.

It looks like it's version 52 something. I didn't get the rest of the numbers. It's really frustrating. For instance, i'll be on the gooel home page and i'll depress the alt key. It should say file, but it doesn't, i'll have to hit it a few times for it to work. Just slow annoying things that quite honestly shouldn't be happening.

Hey guys,

OK, yet another problem with jfw acting sluggish with yet no
explaination with firefix. I am running jaws 18. Lately i am loading
firefox, to google which is my home page, I'll alt tab over to it and
start tabbing around and it just literally says nothing. It's almost
like it has to focus on it, it seems to be a lot slower. Anyone else
seen something similar? It's pretty annoying to say the least.

Re: Saving David Bails windows files

David Bailes

Hi Dino,
The guides are self contained html files, that is, they don't contain any links to external files such as css files or images. So if you're saving a guide using file, save as, you can set the "save as type" to webpage, html only.

Note that the advantage of reading the guides directly on the web, is that if I make any corrections or additions to the guides, you'll automatically read the updated version.

Thanks for your positive comment about the guides,
David.

Hi again Jed. If you decide to uninstall and reinstall Firefox version 52, remember to go to the update settings and disable all updates, and uncheck the boxes for updating in the background, and for use of the Mozilla Maintenance Service. Otherwise, eventually, it will try to force you to update to version 57 which is unusable.

Re: found file

the best way to do this is to manually go to the folder where you want to save your work.
then open a new text file with the context menu. then when you save your work it will be saved in the same folder.
one problem with note pad is it remembers the last folder where you saved your work.
and if you don't search for the folder it is going to save the file to and change it before you save the file it will be saved in the last folder you were useing.

I found my file beware of the program called notepad++ it is a good program.

It has a tendency to save files in different places.

I had sent a message I could not find a file so, I opened Notepad++ and started to look around the menues.

I found a windows menu item when I opened the menue I saw a file with a strange name so, I took a chance and opened it.

Sure enough it was the file I was looking for it had a strange name.

Notepad++ had stored the file in program files.

After locating the file I copyied it back to the documents folder.

We are all set.

In Outlook 2016, if you are in the mailbox list and focused
on a mailbox you want to move, use the application key to
open that menu. Use the up arrow key, mostly because it is
shorter to get where you want, and you will find a pair of
choices, Move up, and move down. Depending on the direction
within the list you want to move the selected mailbox,
choose the up or down direction and press the enter key to
move up or down one place in the list.
Each press gets you a step up or down. Let us know if that
works for you, Rick

"Move folder" is in the Folder tab of the ribbon, but it's marked as unavailable when I look at it. It may be what you're looking for.

I don't know, but have you tried the usual cut/paste
keyboard commands
to move folders around?

If any one knows how to do that would you let me know?

Thanks a lot.

Applications worked. It is surprising what we can do with
it, and it does not seem to have changed with ribbons.

Lost file

Nino Dagostino

Hi:

My tutor and I was working on a file this morning for web design.

I was using Notepad++ to edit the file.

We named the file index.html, and we thought it was saved.

When I went to open the file it was not there.

I am sure I saved the file I clicked on the saveas button.

I have looked all over my computer for the file does anybody have any ideas how to find the file or another search program I could use.

It took us about 2 hours to create this file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
