I also get the “Main Menu”, but it only shows up when I reboot or turn the computer on after it was off, once I close it it’s gone.

Things like OneNote, Settings etc. you might want to check your Startup folder to see if any shortcuts/programs are being launched.

Microsoft® Windows® Operating System   On Top

Would the battery be easy to replace if it ever runs out? In other words, would I be able to swap it with a similar battery?

I currently have an Ipod Shuffle First Generation which I purchased in 2008, and just recently, the battery dies after only 1 hour! Unfortunately, Apple makes it so the battery can't be replaced easily. Also, from what I understand, Ipods in general are going out-of-print. This is such a shame, as the Ipod Shuffle is the most accessible one for me, as there isn't a touchscreen. If I need to get something new, I want something that can be compatible with ITunes Music, especially .m4a files, something that can store lots of music, and most important of all, something that has an easy way to replace the battery! And, I hope there's something out there that can plug into my Apple Adapter that came with the Ipod Shuffle I have.

Hi,

I used to have the old iPod shuffle myself, but moved over to the iPod touch. It’s got a full touch screen, but its smaller than the iPad,  and smaller than any of the newer iPhones, I’d probably say height and width probably similar to the old iPhone 4s, but a lot thinner and lighter, it’s also got voice over  so you can navigate everything with the TTS. Although to be fair since it is that much bigger  still though than the old shuffle  I ended up just putting all my music on my iPhone and using that instead of the iPod. If you still really want a shuffle though, you can always look on EBay for a second hand one, or if you can’t get a shuffle on there you could look for the iPod Nano , I think from either the 3rd or 4th generation  they have TTS  built in to navigate the small display, although you’d best check online first to check which generation started to support TTS .

Hope this helps

How well does Jaws 2018 work with the latest Kindle for PC

Cristóbal

Hello list,

Was curious to know if anyone’s been using the most recent version of Kindle for PC and Jaws 2018? I know there have been supposed improvements on both sides in regards to accessibility, but poking around online, it doesn’t really say how extensive. If things like highlighting or making notes, that sort of thing can also be done with Jaws. I’ve heard that NVDA also is supposed to work well with Kindle for PC, but NVDA is more my backup choice for doing things. I’d rather stick with Jaws if possible. How about braille display support?

I like FSReader and QRead well enough, but the most you can really do with either program is bookmark. That and if you’ve got multiple devices you’ve soon got a patchwork of books and bookmarks on different machines.

The idea of being able to make notations and highlight passages and have synchronization across platforms and devices is appealing to me. Thus my interest.

Thanks,

Cristobal

Outlook 2016 sometimes “forgets” the Ctrl-y “goto folder” command. I have to use the Alt-q Edit field and literally spell it out for the suddenly dim-witted program.
Does this happen to anyone else?

Thanks.
