Do you need the beta version?
The regular version came with my copy of Windows 7 and works fine with Jaws 13.

Just so. Any long time subscriber to this list would have to acknowledge that there are many who freely offer help even if an occasional thread might be on a topic currently not relevant to all members.
I only wish that some day I might contribute answers in equal quantity as my questions.

I'm new to this list. I am an older person and I've been using Jaws for a
long time and have never become a skilled user. So with that background,
I'd like to suggest that if someone doesn't know how to use Amazon, or
hasn't used a shopping site, or isn't comfortable doing it, and uses Jaws,
and asks the list for help, it seems to me that there might be a kind soul
on the list who would really try to help instead of embarrassing the person
for daring to ask and show his vulnerability.

Dave...

David,

Well put. I think I do contribute to the list, although I note your answers
are at the top w/r content and attention to detail. I've picked up ideas
from you and a few others who often have gems of wisdom to share.

For the moment I'm just sitting on the curb, watching the bandwagon parade
go by. Lots of horns blowing a common tune for the moment, so a bit
monotonic.

Sir Dave;

I'm thinking, perhaps you may need to find that pill bottle again,
I think you may need at least another half of a tablet, but to be on the
safe side, you might as well, take the whole thing.

Lol.

Hello Miriam,

Well put. I feel suitably chastised. So I'll give you my perspective.

There's a perfectly good training tool for learning how to use the web
called "Surf's Up" on the FS site and also in the help/web resources menu
from JAWS. I recommend that to anyone who has a need to learn basic
navigation on the web, like Insert+F7 to bring up a list of links.

I don't mind pointing people to that training tool and give advice on how to
navigate using JAWS. However I do draw the line when someone just whines
about not being able to do something on such-and-such a web site and hoping
that someone will jump in and tell them what to do -- problem is that the
originator has not told us specifically just what they are having trouble
with.

To wit, here's the original request, and please tell me what I should have
told him/her to do:

"I'm trying to order audio cd from amazon ,my cousin show me how to order
from amazom.com last week ago !! I have try to order audio cd but I forgot
how to do it!! Does anybody know how to tell me how to order audio cd from
amazon.com website? I really need your help to tell me how to do it with
jaws!! I'm using jaws 11,window xp desktop computer with home edition. I
will appreciate any help and answer from anybody."

Okay, I'll give you a hint. The question we need to actually answer is this
part:

"Does anybody know how to tell me how to order audio cd from amazon.com
website?"

The answer is either "No." or the answer I gave:

"Click on the item you want. Add to shopping cart. Go to checkout. Give them
your credit card."

Other than my additional snide comments, I thought my answer was eloquent
and precise. I certainly have no way to know what his/her cousin told
him/her to do, do I?

What the heck was it doing? Was it moving all my stuff? I used to know where to find it all. does anybody have any instructions of this huge thing? I think it's taking over! HELP!

Oops, sorry for putting two links in that post. I had more on the clipboard than I thought. Still, you should be able to find it.

At 09:35 PM 12/5/2011, you wrote:
go to www.apple.com/itunes and click on "<http://www.apple.com/itunes//itunes/download/>Download iTunes Now"
On the page that comes up, look for the version you need, for example, 10.51 for Windows 7.

Sir Dave;

I'm new to this list. I am an older person and I've been using Jaws for a
long time and have never become a skilled user. So with that background,
I'd like to suggest that if someone doesn't know how to use Amazon, or
hasn't used a shopping site, or isn't comfortable doing it, and uses Jaws,
and asks the list for help, it seems to me that there might be a kind soul
on the list who would really try to help instead of embarrassing the person
for daring to ask and show his vulnerability.

Hi, Miriam.

Thank you for your thoughtful post. Dave is otherwise the most considerate
of listers, and you may have seen his later apology. Some listers can be on
a short fuse, and some listers have ways of lighting that fuse, but for the
most part people with questions get good answers in polite responses here.
I'd put Dave right up there among the most helpful posters. It would be sad
if this one lapse by this particular lister, of all people, were to
discourage anyone from benefiting from the wealth of advice freely given
here.

Hello there;
While you were typing the message to
Technical support,
did you happen to ask about, when there would be scripts for windows live
mail?
Seriously,
Research it?
What did we all do before the malfunctioning of research it, was introduced?
Head out to specific web site to seek out the information we wish to have.

Holger Fiallo <holgerfiallo@...>

Hi, all
I am trying to download Microsoft security Essentials beta to see how it works with JASW 13. I can not find the link. I thought I downloaded it but it did not work. Any help will be good.
