hello;

I haven't used winamp in a long long time, however, if I remember correctly,

1, open winamp,

2, press shift+l=folder,

3, now navigate to the folder,

4, now tab ok, the music will start to play.

Hi all

Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates this fine day!

Well I am slowly getting my programs together.

Still having issues with skype and signing in but oh well.

I want to know the following please.

-how to make win amp play an entire folder

I use to use the key alt, f and P and it would play.

-how does win amp keep playing my folder instead of stopping after each song?

E mail:

When sending a new e mail jaws is not completing the address, it does not even show up and it is in my contacts.

For example I have to manually type each address out.

When I first got windows 10 I had to type the address for this group manually once or reply to someone so that it could remember who I want.

I did the key F3 where my contacts are and all my address are there.

Why do they not show up when I start a new e mail?

-How do I get jaws to announce “delete” when deleting an e mail?

Thank you so much for your patience, kindness and for not letting me feel alone during this transition to windows 10

Thanks again

Sugar

Sugar,

To my knowledge, use Windows Explorer to find the folder containing the songs, and press the Application key (or shift F10). In the context menu, you should find play in Winamp.

There were issues with the auto complete and Windows 10, but appear to have been corrected in the Jaws 2018 version; what Jaws are you using?

You can only run what is on the system, possibly you could run
something which is a command line if you have a USB disk with that
program on it. You don't have the full windows, just the pe
environment.

First thing to do is get yourself a copy of the late Carlos Nazario's Windows pre-installation environment with NVDA. There's one for Windows 7 32- or 64-bit, and Windows 10 32- or 64-bit systems. You get these from
http://www.opopanax.net/download. Create the DVD, then put it aside while you do the next step.

Next step is to create a standalone copy of Image for Windows. I created an audio demo of how to do this. Get it from at https://www.dropbox.com/s/gg10t516n0azszx/PE%20Builder.mp3?dl=0

Finally, boot the Windows pre-installation environment DVD you created, and when the talking Desktop starts talking, run your standalone IFW and do the restore.

Re: how to restore a computer with Terabyte disk imageing with out sighted help.

Dave Durber

Hello Nino:

I have 3 computers, 2 of which I built myself and are identical in that, they have power supplies of the same make and power specifications, the same make and model motherboards; the same make and model CPU; the same make and amount of memory; the same make and model drives for storing the Windows operating system and the same make and model CD/DVD Drives.

The reason I am pointing this out is, that I installed a version of Windows 7 professional on a spare SSD drive, so, if I have a problem with either one of the identical computers, I can connect the spare SSD drive to that computer, connect the normal bootable drive to another port, start the computer using the spare SSD and restore a previously created backup to the normal system drive, which I created using Image for Windows, of course, first making sure I have copied any and all personal folders and files to another drive, then powering off the computer, reconnecting the normal bootable drive to its original connector, restarting the computer. When the system gets to the Desktop and JAWS in my case starts speaking, Windows often tells me that the system needs to be restarted in order for the bootable drive to be recognized as such to Windows. I download any necessary Windows updates and, following any system restarts, I then restore my personal folders, files and update any software settings, before making a new backup, using Image for Windows.

Using this method, I can restore the problem computer very quickly, generally getting the computer back to an operational state in a few hours or less.

I am in the process of researching motherboards for all 3 computers. I already have the same make and model SSD drives and CD/DVD drives  for all 3 machines. When I have completed the purchase of the chosen motherboards, CPU(s) and memory and installed Windows 10 on all 3 systems,  I will install Windows 10 on my spare SSD for the same reason as I did for Windows 7 Professional.

HTH

Sincerely:

Dave Durber

Anyone who is concerned about unintentionally installing promotional software may be interested in trying Unchecky.

It runs in the background as a service and monitors for recognized installers.  It then automatically unchecks any checkboxes related to installing toolbars, browsers, and similar unwanted products.  I have not thoroughly tested the program and it is not guaranteed to catch everything, but there have already been several updates since the initial release so I'm sure it's detection rate will improve.

Hi Brian,

I only use the word, Screen, because as someone that is totally blind I have to tab to get to that dialogue to uncheck the Avast install checkbox.  Since I can't tell where the dialogue is, I couldn't tell people that can't see it, that it's on the same screen, when many blind users believe that it might be a different screen per say when tabbing.  Not everyone knows the correct computer lingo, me being 1 of them!  LOL

And yes, Unchecky does not uncheck this Avast checkbox.  I run Unchecky on all our computers, & it hasn't unchecked that checkbox on any of them.

Mike,

Your warning is quite timely.   That being said, the Avast install option is not on a separate screen or pop-up but is at the bottom of the very first screen of the CCleaner install process and it is static.   It should remain there until you hit the next button and, as you say, unless you want Avast installed on your system you must be sure to uncheck that box first.

Although I routinely recommend Unchecky they have still not caught up with whatever mechanism is being used to present this offer, since they don't automatically uncheck it.   I anticipate this will change, but am not certain when.  I have reported this issue with missing this particular checkbox to the developers of Unchecky.

Thanks Dan, I’ve used the RS games site before, but was more interested in whether anyone knew about an accessible game engine, as I’m currently writing  some design tools for my own games, which is a huge task, but if there is already an accessible engine out there it would save me a ton of time  not having to create the tools myself, and anything that saves me time is amazing haha

Hi,

I'm not aware of any accessible game engines , but I have recently started coding audio games, so would  be really interested if you do find anything please do keep me up to date. I currently use the blast bay tool kit  (or BGT as its called for short) you mentioned, but I'm not sure what you mean by when you tried to run a script you got an error, which script did you try and run ? was it something you wrote yourself  or was it someone else's script you were trying to run? Either way it doesn't sound like an error with BGT , but more a problem with the script you were trying to run. the best thing to do is open the BGT help file, in here there is an introduction, read this first, then the language tutorial , this will teach you how to write and run your first ever script, and then teaches you to write more complex scripts and eventually walks you through writing  your first audio games. I actually hadn't done any coding before this and found it a really good tutorial that explains everything really well. Let me know if you need any further help with BGT and if I can I will be happy to help, but do please keep me up to date if you do find an accessible game engine.

Subject: good accessible places to download accessible game engines

Hi. looking fo an accessible game engine. Looking at enrolling in a game programming and 3d course with my school. My lectuer is going to have to rebuild the course and learning materials for me, and any future blind people. Tried unity, unreal game engine, and totally inaccessible. So does any one know of an accessible game engine? Thanks. Ps: did try the blast bay studios tool kit, but when I installed and then ran the scripts, kept giving me an error. A scripting language, but does have limitations, like no 2 d and 3d and audio, database, multimedia. So have tried searching, and now. Wondering, if any one has come up with one. I know the accessible games firms like el works, dracanous, have their own game engines and would not let outsiders download or purchase their engines. So any other ideas, or where to find it. Thanks. And the other game engines, just totally uinstalled and using a tool called revouinstaller. So, it gets rid of the left over files as well as the application.

Thanks.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.

Hi:

Thank you for responding to me.

I am in the first steps I downloaded the Microst media creation tool.

I think if I create the usb bootable disk I think I can get it to talk.

But to run the Terabyte software I am not sure what to put on the stick from the Terabyte sweet.

Thank you for taking the time to help me.
