scheduling assistance outlook 2016
Pablo Morales
Hi all, Is there a more efficient way to use the calendar scheduling assistance of Outlook 2016? I am trying to use this tool, but I can’t figure out how to handle this feature. Once I access to it, the information that I am reading is not very clear, and I don’t know if it is normal or what is going on. Could someone help me with this outlook feature? Thanks in advance, ,

Re: Navigating the audible.com site with jaws

Hi Sieghard,

Primarily I have these issues when following links in recommendation newsletters like our editors recommend blah blah blah. It seems the recommended titles are contained in listboxes though they don't seem to function like any listboxes I've ever seen before. I'm using jaws on a windows 7 computer and see the same issues regardless of whether I access the site with firefox or internet explorer. Interestingly, if I go to the audible site and perform a search for an author or title everything is fine and I can move around the page just as you describe. Apparently these listboxes are used only in certain situations like the recommendations I described above. Kim

Re: free registry cleaners

I’ve used Avast on and off for quite some time. at this moment, I got this one free from an in store promotional offer. I usually just run windows defender and I’ve been pretty secure since installing Windows10. I probably will remove avast from my system for the new year. It gets a little frustrating with the ongoing accessibility issues. However, it has worked well for me as an antivirus software and only that. My registry cleaner for a number of years has been CCleaner. It has worked well for me and is currently working great for me. And CCleaner is very accessible which is a plus for me. but ultimately; a messed up registry is usually fixed by other tools associated with CCleaner. Your computer usually goes down with a Windows OS issue or a malfunctioning app. Scanning your OS with the sfc /scannow command in an elevated command prompt and uninstalling the troubled app and reinstalling it usually resolves most of your issues.

Thought about it, but am concerned about reports I’m hearing of a serious near-breach of security that happened back in Sept; comments alluded to Avast trying to cover their own butt by saying that no one was harmed. I’d be interested in your feedback after you’ve had a chance to look into the issue, too. Also, Avast products seem to be becoming less and less screen-reader-friendly, though perhaps not C Cleaner itself. So, jury’s out, at this point—not going to make any hasty moves until I hear additional comments here from anyone who’s used it since Sept. Thanks!

I tried to create a WinPe and WinRe copy with IFW, but Narrator does not come up. How do you recommend using this copy in an accessible way?

Is this on a PC? I just followed the link from my Daily Deal newsletter and saw no difference, heading level 1 took me to the book title, then heading level 2 pressed twice took me to the publisher's notes/description.. I also closed Audible and then opened it just by going to www.Audible.com, I then searched for an author, Kenn Follett, and all his books were listed, I had the usual Add to Cart, Add to Wishlist etc, also the play sample and pressing enter on the book title took me into the details screen. I then went to my wish list and after adding one Ken Follett book to the cart I added the new Clive Cussler Dirk Pitt book from my wish list, then went to the cart and checked out as normal. Can you explain more where you experience these list boxes, what computer, browser and screenreader do you use? For me with Windows 10, Google Chrome and Jaws 2018 the site is perfectly accessible. Regards, Sieghard

Not a viable option? People must be on tin cans and strings for it not to be a viable option.

From my own personal experience I can tell you that in all the years Jaws offered the "Check for Updates" option and where minor updates were done this way I never ever had an issue with this. After all, if there is an update of whatever size it is first downloaded before the install starts, but to each their own.

Directly updating from the Help menu via the Internet connection has been demonstrated numerous times by users to fail during the process. It leans heavily on the connection being reliable throughout the process and if it does not, the update is compromised with possible bad result. Much safer to do the download as a separate process, and then to run the executable on the computer. Hi, Maria. In certain network situations, updating via the Help Menu is the only option because of firewalls, and the need for Administrator Permission. Just because an option is provided doesn't guarantee that it is the best option for your situation.
