Re: JFW 13 with Kindle for PC

Ralph Supernaw <rhs@...>

I have version 1.3.0.

It's a bummer because it would be amazing to have access to Kindle books.
As things stand, I could read something I really need to read but have a
hard time putting up with the pauses for anything else.

Ralph,
I'm afraid there's not much you can do about Kindle for PC with
Accessibility Plugin to improve the speech. You only have control of the
speed of the speech and whether the speech is male or female. the OCR in
JFW 13 can read the pages of a book in the program, but since pages are
usually printed in columns, and Convenient OCR doesn't decolumnize the text,

JFW will just read across the columns. As far as I can determine, there
hasn't been an update in the program since January 2011. I have mine set to

update automatically, but I haven't received any notification that it has
been updated. Does the About dialog under your Help show any date later
than January?

Hi,

I have just installed Kindle for PC. I have figured out how to get a book
and read it. However, it seems to read in a very choppy manner. I'm not
sure if it's pausing between lines or sentences. I have speeded up the
speech rate but it is still irritatingly choppy. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ralph

ok next time, download the Windows installer, not the one intended for Apple Macintosh.
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
For example, if you're running Windows 7 x 64, you'll want to look for
"iTunes 10.5.1 for Windows (64-bit)"

I have no idea, Holger.
Perhaps I did not read clearly all the prior posts.
I am only talking about pc software, and am not versed at all in that IPhone stuff as of yet.
I thought we were talking about using JAWS with a computer.

actually its a shame to FS because they don't ask permission to use these people's web page info. research-it should be rmoeved from the program. come on now! this is a screen reader program, not a search program!

Yes it did work on the business search also.

ResearchIt is a flawed concept, because every time one of the target Websites changes, ResearchIt ceases to work correctly.
