If you are talking about the checkbox “Show Virtual Viewer on screen” then I would absolutely leave this checked which is the default.

Re: Contact

Hi Ibrahim,

Here is what I do:

1. Press Jaws Key+F11 to bring up the system tray items
2. Arrow to Dropbox and press enter, Jaws says "Press enter to open the Dropbox menu" so press enter a second time
3. Now a menu comes up, arrow until yu find "Preferences" and press enter
4. I believe by default you will be on the Accounts tab, you need to get to the "Import" tab which is to the right
5. Once you are on the import tab, Tab a couple of times and you find the checkbox to enable screenshots.

Hi Shannon,

I've come across the problem with accessing multiple attachments before, and was able to get around it by turning off a setting in Outlook called Attachment Preview.

Go to the Options dialogue with Alt, F, T.

Press T until you're on Trust Center, then Alt + T to open a second dialogue.

UpArrow once to Attachment Handling, and then Tab to a checkbox labelled Turn Off Attachment Preview and check it.

OK out of both dialogues.

Does that make a difference?

Something is wrong here.

I have an email that has seven attachments. Only one of them is the one I need. There are

6 junk attachments that are jpegs of some signature cards, a couple of html copies of previous messages and one is the pdf I am looking for.

I can’t arrow across or up or down past the second one. I keep getting stuck and Jaws  says focus lost.

I don’t want to have to save all the junk onto my system only to have to print it and sign and re-scan.

This is not the first time this has happened to me.

Even when there is only one real attachment Jaws announces that there are two when I alt tab into the attachments field.

Anyone know why  it would be behaving like this?

Outlook 2010 and Jaws 18 and or Jaws 2018.

Thanks

Hi, Shannon. I use Windows 10 with JAWS 2018. I am having no trouble reading multiple attachments with Outlook 2010. I do the following.

1. Open Outlook2010.

2. Shift TAB to the attachments list.

3. Use Right and Left Arrows to advance or go backward through the attachments list.

4. Press ALT + F, followed by M to save attachments.

5. Follow the prompts to save. Then press the OK dialog.

This should save all attachments in the message.

Re: Contact

Hmm, not sure why that is, it always was as simple as opening the OneDrive application and signing in with my Microsoft Id for me. You then have a chance to specify a location where you want the OneDrive folder just as with Dropbox, by default it's in your user folder, and I think that's pretty much it.
I am quite sure if you want to set it up that Microsoft Accessibility can easily help you with that. I have an Office 365 subscription both a Home subscription which I share with my wife and Mom as well as a Business Premium subscription for my business, both come with 1 Tb of storage so it would of course be silly to pay for Dropbox Premium or whatever they call it when I already have all the storage I could want and I would have the Office 365 subscription anyways because I need access to Outlook, Excel and occasionally some of the other Office apps.
The Office 365 subscription is one of the best deals around considering all it includes.

Thanks

Hi John,
thanks for the info, I hadn't realized exactly what you were wanting to do.
I don't know a good way of doing the same using Jaws.
However, when I was looking around I came across the two powershell commands start-transcript and stop-transcript, which may be of use. They produce a text file of the commands and output between the times when you executed
start-transcript, and then stop-transcript. If you type in start-transcript without any other parameters, it writes to a text file in the documents folder of the account which you are currently using. There are some optional
parameters,
including the path of the file.

Hi John,
if you want to read previous lines, rather that scroll the window, you can just use up arrow (and the then use down arrow to read the next line, if required) Is this not working for you?
Note that if you want to go back a long way, you may need to increase the command history buffer size. To do this: press alt+spacebar to open the window's menu, and choose properties. On the options page of the dialog, you can
change the
command history buffer size.

Hi John,
there are a couple of ways of scrolling using the keyboard.
The first is to use page up/down.
The second provides finer adjustment. Press alt+spacebar to open the window's menu, open the edit sub menu, and choose scroll. You can now use up/down arrows to scroll. When you've finished scrolling, press Esc to return back to
the
normal mode.

Re: Jaws 2018 goes silent at PIN log-in

I also use a PIN and don't experience this. When I hear the Windows startup sound I press the numlock key so I can enter my Pin on the NumPad and at that point Jaws says "PIN Edit" or something like that, it then announces *****as I enter the PIN and as soon as I type the last digit it loads the desktop, that takes maybe 8 or 10 seconds and then Jaws speaks on the desktop.

Not a Win 10 expert, but check your JAWS options under the startup.
Make sure it is set to start up after logon for all users or

I just updated to Windows 10 Fall edition. Now when I turn my PC on
Jaws
2018 speaks some background activity at the PIN log-in prompt and then
goes silent. I have to load Narrator to enter my PIN and Jaws comes
back to life.
Also it doesn't show up in the system tray and pressing JawsKey-J does
not work. If I unload Jaws and restart it again it works fine. The
same thing happens with my laptop. Is anyone else experiencing this
with the PIN login in particular?
