hi all

sorry as I no this will be a silly question for most but I am new to jaws
and not getting on all that well with it!!
for my first question when I am, on a page on the net how do I get jaws to
read it all I want to do is use my cursor keys to move around the screen and
read.
I have tried the 3 cursors the jaws cursor invisible cursor and the
virtual cursor but well it seems a bit hit and miss what it will read.
I am using jaws 12 and windows 7.
I did try and look at the jaws web sight but well as I cant work out how to
get around web sights well I say no more.

Text Analyzer: listing text inconsistencies

Hamid Hamraz

Dear all,

Is it a way to invoke the text analyzer like for example a spell checker? I mean to list all the inconsistencies within the whole text, rather than describing them while reading it.

Cheers,

Re: [Bulk] Dragon and Jaws

Dave...

JAWS 7? You're way behind. Most of us on this list have not used JAWS 7 for
years. And I doubt that later versions of Dragon will work with old versions
of JAWS. Consider updating to the newer version of JAWS before you launch
into the world of current mainstream software. IT avoids frustration, in my
opinion.

Hi, I'm RJ, and I have some questions. First, I was looking into purchasing
dragon naturally speaking 11.5, and I'm running jaws version 7.0 on a
windows XP operating system. Will this configuration work? I purchased
dragon naturally speaking once before, but could not get it to work with
jaws 3.0. This was several years ago. I have a friend who is a techonlogy
specialist with a rehabilitation agency, and he's told me he was unable to
get and dragon and jaws to work RJtogether.

Thanks, that might work too. I have seen discussions about all the PlexTalk
products on this list. It is a pretty quiet list, so you might have to wait
until someone responds to your question. There could be another list
specifically for PTP1, but I am not aware about any other than the one I
gave.

All the best.

the perhaps easier way to subscribe to that list is to send a message to
ptr1users-request@freelists.org and put the word subscribe in the subject

digital recorder from Plextalk, then absorbed discussion of the PTR2 when it

Hi,
I would think that running older versions of JAWS or any other screen reader
would, eventually, bite you in the behind as the newer software may expect
certain hooks to be available in your screen reader.
I have JAWS 8 on an old desktop which is no longer on line, it just holds
some music.

Re: Dragon and Jaws

Dean Martineau <dean@...>

I do not know about JFW 7. With recent versions of JAWS including 11-13,
JAWs can work with Dragon as long as you are a competent JAWs user and
willing to be a little flexible. You have to use the JAWs cursor and hear
some extraneous speech. The ideal combination for speech recognition
involves using J-Say, but this is an expensive proposition.

Hi,

I have just installed Kindle for PC. I have figured out how to get a book
and read it. However, it seems to read in a very choppy manner. I'm not
sure if it's pausing between lines or sentences. I have speeded up the
speech rate but it is still irritatingly choppy. Any suggestions?
