Ed,

While that's entirely possible, it's a lot of work to make up for something 
that's elementally  wrong with how the setup is working. I also have Windows 
7 32-bit with Office 2007 and I can use the Alt key shortcuts just fine when 
virtual ribbon is turned off.

Jim, just to make sure, you are aware that the keystrokes are separate, and 
not combined? e.g. Alt, then h then o then r. Not Alt+H, then o then r.

Also I've noticed that they need to be typed in succession fairly quickly or 
Office loses patience.

You gotta use one or the other.

If you like to use keystrokes, then?
You need to have the jaws virtual ribbon shut off.
However, if you wish to navigate the ribbon through the menus, then?
Having the feature on will be fine.

New email count in Outlook 2010

Hi Everyone,

 

I have several folders under my inbox that I filter incoming emails to. One
of these folders is older and when I down arrow to the folder JAWS tells me
how many new emails is inside. But I have a new folder that I also send new
emails to but JAWS doesn't say how many new emails are inside when I arrow
down to it. Does anybody know how to turn on this feature on so JAWS will
tell me how many new emails are inside?

Bug in Word 2007 file menu

Hi Folks

I am using JAWS 12 and I was using Word 2007 in the web view and I went to
the file menu and went to New, and JAWS moved the menu to open.  I had
trouble opening the New menu, but was able to do so.

To test another problem I used NVBA and found that the problem did not exit.

CPanel is very accessible with later versions of JAWS, assuming you're using
the default CPanel theme (I believe it's called x3).  With that theme, no
use of the JAWS cursor is required at all and it behaves like any other
normal webpage. If you're not using that theme, you should be able to switch
to it from within your CPanel interface. If you can't, talk to your web host
about enabling that theme for accessibility reasons. If they won't do so,
consider looking for a new host.

Are any webmasters having problems switching between the menus in CPanel
with JAWS 13? I have been using JAWS 10, and, although I must use the mouse
the mouse commands to go between the site, menu, content, component,
extensions, tools, etc., CPanel has been accessible. However, JAWS 13 will
not, for one, stay in JAWS cursor mode, because the screen changes as the
menus pop up, and the menus then disappear, because I didn't click on one,
since JAWS switched back to PC cursor. Even if I can get to where I want to
click, I don't usually get the intended result. Anyone else using CPanel
with JAWS 13 with any ideas?

I've downloaded Itunes into it and all seems well. However, I would like
to know if there are accessible ipods out there and if anyone has manageedto transfer songs easily with Jaws on the desktop and "Voice over" on the
Ipod? I understand that the 6th Generation Nano has "voice over"? That's
what I've read, at least.

Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Any experiences you mayhave had will help as well.

navigating walmart website for on line payment

I was able with difficulty to navigate the on-line walmart site to pay my bill earlier; but, after loading jaws 13, and disabling chocqua flash in internet explorer, I am still not able to get it to display everything.
So I can not redo my password, or look at my online statement or anything.
Is it a question of javascript or whatever that stuff is called?

Rather than a window message, use the FSApi.dll and the JFWStopSpeech
function.  If you look around the FS website you should be able to
find at least a header for the jaws API, possibly an import library
too (though I believe it is recommended that you use run-time dynamic
linking - LoadLibrary/GetProcAddress).

JAWS 13 works very well (in fact better than JAWS 12) with Office 2007 
applications. Suggest you do a repair on JAWS 13.

Hello,

CPanel is very accessible with later versions of JAWS, assuming you're using
the default CPanel theme (I believe it's called x3).  With that theme, no
use of the JAWS cursor is required at all and it behaves like any other
normal webpage. If you're not using that theme, you should be able to switch
to it from within your CPanel interface. If you can't, talk to your web host
about enabling that theme for accessibility reasons. If they won't do so,
consider looking for a new host.

Are any webmasters having problems switching between the menus in CPanel
with JAWS 13? I have been using JAWS 10, and, although I must use the mouse
the mouse commands to go between the site, menu, content, component,
extensions, tools, etc., CPanel has been accessible. However, JAWS 13 will
not, for one, stay in JAWS cursor mode, because the screen changes as the
menus pop up, and the menus then disappear, because I didn't click on one,
since JAWS switched back to PC cursor. Even if I can get to where I want to
click, I don't usually get the intended result. Anyone else using CPanel
with JAWS 13 with any ideas?
