navigating walmart website for on line payment

Deb and the girls

I was able with difficulty to navigate the on-line walmart site to pay my bill earlier; but, after loading jaws 13, and disabling chocqua flash in internet explorer, I am still not able to get it to display everything.
So I can not redo my password, or look at my online statement or anything.
Is it a question of javascript or whatever that stuff is called?
Deb

Re: how to send a message to JAWS (PostMessage)

Soronel Haetir

Rather than a window message, use the FSApi.dll and the JFWStopSpeech
function. If you look around the FS website you should be able to
find at least a header for the jaws API, possibly an import library
too (though I believe it is recommended that you use run-time dynamic
linking - LoadLibrary/GetProcAddress).

JAWS 13 works very well (in fact better than JAWS 12) with Office 2007
applications. Suggest you do a repair on JAWS 13.

Thanks, Dave.

My virtual ribbon is unchecked. Truth is, I've tried it both ways and the
ribbon behavior doesn't change. I've even tried making the changes in the
application settings as well as the default. I don't know whether the
ribbon is standard or virtual with the virtual ribbon checked or unchecked.
The behavior is the same, and it sure is not what I'm familiar with. The
ribbon behaves much differently from the way it does in Jaws 12. In fact, I
just tried to use the Outlook 2007 keyboard command, control+r to reply to
you, and it did not work in Jaws 13. I had to go into the ribbon to find
the reply button. Perhaps Jaws 13 won't work well with MS Office 2007?

Settings Center. Ctrl+Shift+d for the default configuration file. Type
"virtual ribbon" in the search field and make sure that the item is
unchecked.

I cannot figure out how to use the standard ribbons in the 2007 MS Office
Suite with Jaws 13 running Windows 7. When I check or uncheck the virtual
ribbon setting in either the settings center or quick settings, I get only
the FS virtual ribbons. How do I assure I get the standard ribbon? Is
there a keystroke to toggle between standard and FS virtual ribbons? Many

Re: CPanel with JAWS 13

James Homuth

Hello,

CPanel is very accessible with later versions of JAWS, assuming you're using
the default CPanel theme (I believe it's called x3). With that theme, no
use of the JAWS cursor is required at all and it behaves like any other
normal webpage. If you're not using that theme, you should be able to switch
to it from within your CPanel interface. If you can't, talk to your web host
about enabling that theme for accessibility reasons. If they won't do so,
consider looking for a new host.

with JAWS 13? I have been using JAWS 10, and, although I must use the mouse
the mouse commands to go between the site, menu, content, component,
extensions, tools, etc., CPanel has been accessible. However, JAWS 13 will
not, for one, stay in JAWS cursor mode, because the screen changes as the
menus pop up, and the menus then disappear, because I didn't click on one,
since JAWS switched back to PC cursor. Even if I can get to where I want to
click, I don't usually get the intended result. Anyone else using CPanel

Yes. Works very well. Voiceover is a good interface. And to keep
this
on a JAWS topic, iTunes has a set of JAWS scripts written to
make it
more accessible under Windows. Once you've mastered the iTunes
interface, it's relatively easy to learn how to create playlists in
your library and sync them to the iPod. But there's another good
list
that you should subscribe to for these questions, since again
this is
straying away from the purpose of a JAWS-related list. No, I'm
not a
moderator, in spite of others'
attempts to
brand me in that fashion. I'm just a lister who knows that
eventually
our moderator (or other moderator-wanna-bees) will chime in and
complain about the lack of JAWS relevance.

I use Jaws version 13 on a Dell Inspiron laptop computer with

I've downloaded Itunes into it and all seems well. However, I would
like to know if there are accessible ipods out there and if
anyone has
manageed to transfer songs easily with Jaws on the desktop and
"Voice

I understand that the 6th Generation Nano has "voice over"?
That's what
I've read, at least.

Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Any
experiences you

Thank you so very much.

Re: Computer cleanup maintainents questions.

Chris Smart <csmart8@...>

I use JV16 Power Tools, in conjunction with Windows 7's own Disc Clean-up and Disc Defrag utilities. JV16 is powerful but takes some Jaws cursoring to access, so you'd probably want something a little more accessible.

JV16 could be scripted though; i just don't have the time and can get around it fine with the Jaws cursor.

I think the problem might be the same one I had at first, that is, a misunderstanding of when to hold down which keys. I was trying to hold down the insert key, the space bar, the O key and the W key all at once. Now that is awkward. Try holding down the insert key and the space bar at the same time and then doing the rest separately.

INS explicitly instead of 'jaws'.

Also, I don't see any entry that would allow changing all of the

You might want to contact FS support to see if there is in fact an
easy way to rebind the layered mode trigger.

Dave...

Glenn,

Perhaps you are trying to press Insert, Spacebar, O and W at the same time?
The layered keystrokes don't work that way.

Insert +Spacebar is pressed together then released, usually resulting in a
sound. Then you press the single letter O for OCR then you release O and
press either S or W or C.

For help with other layered keystrokes, press Insert+Spacebar and release,
then press H

Download, install and test. Program is freeware licenced by piriform. I Recommend use defraggler from piriform too.

Hello, I am using windows 7 home premium with Jaws 13. What software
can I use to clean my computers harddrive, fix errors, Delete old
files and registry errors? There seems to be a lot of these types of
computer clean up programs on google but they don't seem to work
with JAWS!

Michelle
You're welcome. I'm glad I could help.
I know I gave you the link to the gestures for Voice over website, but
don't forget about blindcooltech.com
They have some very useful podcasts. One of which shows you how to use
a touch screen.

Laptop? I thought we were talking about iPods?

thank you.
in my opinion, this is extremely relevant to jaws. i'll need to
know
what happens on the screen of the laptop in order to know what I'm
doing. besides, it was FS who suggested I joined this list for such
questions. they couldn't give me helpful answers on the matter.

Thanks again.

Yes. Works very well. Voiceover is a good interface. And to keep
this
on a JAWS topic, iTunes has a set of JAWS scripts written to
make it
more accessible under Windows. Once you've mastered the iTunes
interface, it's relatively easy to learn how to create playlists in
your library and sync them to the iPod. But there's another good
list
that you should subscribe to for these questions, since again
this is
straying away from the purpose of a JAWS-related list. No, I'm
not a
moderator, in spite of others'
attempts to
brand me in that fashion. I'm just a lister who knows that
eventually
our moderator (or other moderator-wanna-bees) will chime in and
complain about the lack of JAWS relevance.

I actually don't own a Nano at the moment. I just wanted to know if
that particular one, (6th generation ipod nano), would work with
Jaws
during music transfer.

Thanks.

Greetings to all.

My name is Michelle Abadia and I've just subscribed to this list
15 minutes
ago!

I use Jaws version 13 on a Dell Inspiron laptop computer with
Windows
7.
I've downloaded Itunes into it and all seems well. However, I would
like to know if there are accessible ipods out there and if
anyone has
manageed to transfer songs easily with Jaws on the desktop and
"Voice
over" on the Ipod?
I understand that the 6th Generation Nano has "voice over"?
That's what
I've read, at least.

Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Any
experiences you
may have had will help as well.

Thank you so very much.

Michelle N. Abadia
