Hello Pastor Gil,

I changed the subject line to be more descriptive.  The JAWS date translation setting is what you want to change.  Below I will give you one approach; the other is to use the JAWS key plus v command.  Personally, I find the steps below to be a bit easier, so I will give you my preferred option.  The steps are:

1.        Press JAWS key and F2.

2.        Press s 3 times  for “Settings Center” and press enter.

3.       JAWS will put you in the search box.  Enter the word date and press enter.  Arrow down to the item “”date translation”.

4.       Press the space bar to cycle through the options.  When you get to “some translation”, press enter.

5.       Press the alt key and F4 to close, select “yes” to save the changes.

Hi Andy,

You can go to Kodi. TV, that's the website. Essentially, kodi is a program where one can watch TV programs, movies, and the like. It's only right now compatible for blind people on the Windows platform, running the Kodi screen reader and Kodi 16.1.

Hi Randy,

Kodi is a program that runs on Windows, Android, Lenix, Raspberry Pi, and iOS.

It is compatible with all of the above-mentioned platforms, but the Kodi screen reader is only compatible with Kodi 16.1 on Windows. The screen reader will not work with Kodi 17.3 or 17.4 currently. It's operated by the keyboard. Jaws will not read its contents, hence the reason for Kodi having its own reader.

Shane.

Where we stand with Kodi  right now, is that the developer who made the screen reader, only has it working with the windows platform. However, it's only working on version 16.1 and not 17.3 or 17.4. hopefully in Some time, the developer will make it so it is compatible with version 17.

Hope this helps, Shane.

Jonas,

Thanks, but I don't need it myself as I never upgraded and currently have Google Drive Sync installed and continuing to run on my machine.

I also tend to avoid getting installers anywhere except "from the source" or from someone I definitely trust who has an archived copy of their own.

What's running on my machine is Google Drive Sync Version 2.34.6425.2548, so what is on the site you gave the link to is very old indeed (and the downloads likely full of bundled bloatware and/or PUPs).

Jaws Script settings for Outlook2013 being used for Outlook 2016

Shannon

Hi all,

I just noticed something on my lap top running Jaws 18, win 10 and using Office 2016

I used the insert                ctrl V to get the version of my Outlook and the jaws history to get this

Microsoft Outlook Subscription Version 16.0.8326.2096

When I press the

JAWSKey+W
This script speaks shortcut keys appropriate to Outlook 2013.
Says Windows shortcut keys, keyboard Help, and other information that is important when using Outlook 2013 without a mouse

I think this odd and wonder if something is not loaded correctly? Why would it be referring to 2013 when this is 2016?

Is there a script I need to load or change something?

Thanks

Shannon

No, I am not getting the save password alert any longer, which is a good thing.

As for the continuing U A C issue, I have learned to tolerate it, even though it is a bit of a nuisance.

I guess I could try un-installing and re-installing Firefox to see if the notification goes away, but I am not sufficiently bothered by the problem, at least at this time.

If anyone has other suggestions for me to try, I'd be happy to consider them.

I think this is what Bill was referring to in his suggestion:

quote
ALT plus R, followed by R tells Firefox to remember the password.

ALT plus N followed by N says: No, don't remember the password.
end quote

as for the UAC dialog popping up when starting Firefox, I'm not really sure as I haven't experienced this problem before.
I can suggest uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, and even downloading it from the website first, but this time running the installer as the admin to see if that keeps the UAC at bay. but if it still pops up, maybe there's another thing to try, if you want to keep trying, or someone else monitoring this problem has a solution?

Re: Google Drive!

As an aside, Google Drive Sync still works.   I have a copy of the software that I'd be happy to share with anyone who wants it.  I've not changed over to Google's latest and greatest and probably won't, as I don't use Google Photos.

Re: Windows related list?

That would depend on which Windows you have in mind.  If Windows 10, then the Windows 10 for Screen Reader Users group is ideal.  Send an e-mail to:  win10+help@win10.groups.io

Hi Mike,

Kodi is a program whereby one can watch various movies, TV shows, and the like. It's accessible through Android, windows, Lennox, and iOS I believe, if one jailbreaks their device. However, due to 17.3 and 17.4 not being accessible with Kodi's screen reader, Kodi version 16.1 only works currently.

Hi everyone,

So I'm thinking about starting my own Google group for the blind/visually
impaired regarding Kodi as it relates to blind users.

Which would be better, Google Groups or Google Groups IO. Not sure what is
the difference. And would anyone be interested in joining?

Shane.

Hello, Could someone please explain where you can go to find out more about Kodi?
I have a lot of questions about it and just wonder where I might get some answers.

Is it self voicing? I am a little confused by your post. Make what copatible with 17? Windows? Jaws? Built in screenreader?

Hello Carol,

Kodi, is a platform where one can watch various TV shows, movies and depending on what Bill you have, live TV stations from all across the world. This is called IPTV.
