IE, Firefox once in awile and chrome from time to time. I really dont like the History or bookmark layout in either Firefox or Chrome.
Also some of the sluggishness or crashing isnt IE it is Jaws and it happens with Firefox and Chrome just not as often from what people say but then again I dont have that much trouble with IE.

Hi again,

I am not good enough with Jaws yet to say which things it does or does not speak.  But, in this case, the control plus 1, control plus 2 and control plus 5 are all windows commands while in Word.  Unless Jaws has some assigned key for control plus 2, it should work.  Also, in case I did not mention this, the numbers are the ones on the number row, not the keypad.  Does Jaws have a way to read how things are formatted in Word?  This would be the best way to find out if the change took effect.

Take care,

Carol

I’m not sure. I tested this out on a word document. I’m using word 2013 with Jaws 18. I didn’t get any indecation of any changes. I’m also using Jaws 18 with word 2010, and my client is running word 2007 with Jaws 17.

Hi James,

You can set the spacing for a document before typing.  If you have already typed the document, you can make changes by selecting the portion you want to change and then pressing the spacing key combo you desire.  This action will only change the portion you select.

You can make as many changes as is necessary for your document.

I mostly use Chrome also, principally for its performance and security. There are certain documents that I need for work purposes which are extensively modified by scripts when they’re retrieved (automatic generation of the table of contents etc.). They’re extremely slow to load in Firefox with JAWS, but load very quickly in Chrome.

Hi all!

Chrome Browser works great for me.

I like it much better than firefox, because you have one virticle menu to do everything. I did a tutorial on using the Chrome Browser, I will put it on the list, or email me privately.

Chrome is very fast with loading pages, and it is very secure. Many of the key commands are the same as firefox.

Also, if you use NVDA, I am using MS Edge with NVDA, and I am liking it better than Chrome, because it drains very little from the battery. NVDA works as well in Edge, as JAWS works in Chrome.

With JAWS, Chrome is the best browser to use by far.

Now with Windows 10 it feels to me like Internet Explorer isn’t quite cutting it for me anymore. It’s often slow and sluggish and it also crashes from time to time giving all sorts of errors.

I think it’s time to try something else and switch over to that as my primary browser.

I haven’t tried Chrome yet, but from what I understand it’s also accessible with Jaws these days and I know Firefox is also accessible. So my question, which of the 2 do you prefer to use and why? Which do you find most accessible and easier to use?

I use both. I also use IE, as well. When I want to save a shortcut to my desktop, I use I E. Most of the time, I use Firefox. When 10 came out, if you used Edge, it was suggested by the browser that Edge didn't support screen readers. Now, there is a push by another list to use Edge. I muse if they are getting a kickback from Microsoft under the guise of trialing, Edge. If that is the case, show me the money, honey. I don't work for free.

Subject: Which internet browser do you prefer and why?

Hi all
When I had Windows 7 I always used Internet Explorer as my main browser, though from time to time I also used Firefox a bit.

Thanks

Nickus
