stintonjoe@...

Hi all

so first I have windows 7 and jaws 17
ok on my pc I have a drive with nearly 800 folders on it, and I want to copy the names of all the folders and send this as a e mail, so to confirm this is the names of all the folders and not the folders themselves.
so any way I am thinking I would need to do some sort of screen shot? but no idea how to do this. so can any one help me?

thanks in advance Joe

Thanks

Hello,

Thunderbird isn't difficult to use at all. Of course I say that after having used it for years. I would suggest choosing "unified inbox" from the View menu, that is if you have multiple accounts. There are my tips and tricks that I can't think of. I am much better at guiding people live. If you ever feel stuk or need details and are up for a Skype call, feel free to send a message offlist and we can arrange it. The programme itself is accessible, but there are things that make life easier. Going through all the options at least once is a good way to start.

Good luck, please take care!

Vlad.

to clarify, I am trying to point out that it works fine with NVDA, so
therefore, I think it's a bug with prior versions of JAWS.

not really making sense.

This is a known bug and you need to have the latest release of jaws 18
or run TB v45.

However, Jaws says absolutely nothing in the list of messages until
you hit enter and open a message. However, you would not have any
idea there is a message there because Jaws is completely silent while
arrowing through the inbox or the sent folder.

Any tips?

Of course, you can configure all the keyboard shortcuts that NVDA and its add-ons uses via the Input gestures dialog. Poke around in there and you will find just how wonderful this screen reader is.

Hi Maria!  I haven’t found a place marker equivalent in NVDA either.  That would be nice.  Perhaps, there is an add-on for that.

As far as the find feature.  If you press NVDA key plus control plus the letter F, the find dialog box pops up.  This works like the JAWS find function, with the NVDA key replacing the JAWs key or insert key.

One very important feature of JAWS that I like, not yet found or perhaps perfected in NVDA, is the ability to use place markers on web pages.  Also, and perhaps this is my fault, I haven't found the control f for find to work in NVDA as it does in JAWS.

Hi all,

I have successfully created a frame however it is repeating itself twice.

This particular frame is set to speek when ever text in this area appears.

So as I use the pc curser to go through a list the totals at the bottom of the screan are read after Jaws says the item that it has navigated to.

What I am hearing is the name of the person for whom I need to check the time, then the hour total for regular and over time. But it announces the numbers again right after.

What setting do I have wrong that would cause it to repeat?

Here is the Jaws history so you know what I am hearing.

Employee row 2 Read Only
Dutton, Stephen
157.25 0.25
157.25 0.25

Any one know what I did wrong?

Dale,

I am not sure why I would nnot want to have the frame active?

I want this to happen every time that the text appears or changes.

Would it not work if it was disabled? Is disabled  the same as inactive?

Thanks

Dave ,

I am not sure I understand.

There is no name that I am aware of.

I drew the frame starting at the first diget in this line that contains the  three kinds of time. Eache of these cells are actually tab-able to once you have gone through all the entries in the time card.

Why would I not include the numbers in my frame?

Thanks

Not absolutely sure, but maybe you don't need the frame to encompass the number, but just the name. The number might announce without including it inside the frame. Have you tried that?

Press alt plus v for view menu, arrow to layout submenu, check classic  view and check folder pane.

You should then see your folders below one another and get to them with the up and down arrow.

The first thing to do is turn off the message pane by pressing f8.  Or, press alt t for tools, go to options, and under general uncheck the first box that says start TB in message area.  Your messages and folders  can then be navigated with tab and arrows.
