I don't remember how the search engine thing came up now. I tried it a
few times out of curiosity, and was happy to discover I have a low
Internet profile. I can find my thesis and dissertation, and at least
one article I published, but had to enter the title of the anthology in
order to find it. I can also find my call sign, which is public record.
I stay out of chat rooms do not buy on credit, and have no interest in
social networking.

Sounds as if she accidentally selected the entire document and took it
out. Hope she has an earlier version! CTRL-Z could have caught it,
prior to the save.

Tell her not to feel too bad; I once took out an entire Windows
directory--talk about embarrassing! Of course, I restored it, but that
meant every file began with a question mark.

document back, here is what she wrote me:

she wrote:
Sugar,

HELP!!!!!

During this year 2011, since January the 1st; I have felt led to compile
some promises that God had spoken to me in His Word each day.
Sometimes, I would just type prayers, or Scripture with me writing
comments after them.

I should have called this document "A JOURNEY WITH GOD instead of "GOD'S
PROMISES TO ME." Actually, the document has just been called God.dox. I
am not sure why Window's didn't grab all that title, but it did not.

Anyway, I had just finished typing this morning, what I felt God was
speaking and was trying to save it with "control key and the letter s."
However, I accidentally pushed, I believe the alt key along with the
letter A. No big deal, it just simply took me back up to page 1; at
least that's what it read. So, I simply pushed the "Control S" to save
and then closed the document with "alt F-4." However, just this
afternoon, when I opened the document, it is totally blank. I cannot
seem to find the 161 pages of document!! Do you know what might have
happened to it?? I just feel bad about this. Please let me know your
opinion.

but that fall from your heart and cover your soul.'

I'm not sure when it started. But it seems to happen on several versions of

Re: which financial software works best with screen reader

Peter Holdstock <peterholdstock@...>

Hi, having used your product I can confirm it's very good and very accessible. The only issue I had with it a year or so ago was that the terminology used in the home version of the product included a lot of accountancy terms which were confusing, particularly for the UK market. At the time I don't think there was a UK version though so perhaps that's why. For example it was confusing as to when it was referring to money in or out.

Thanks and it was probably my understanding rather than the product itself.

Hi Rik,

I work for Accomplish and our product CashManager is a main stream product that is totally accessible with JAWS and other screen readers.

Our website http://us.accomplishglobal.com/ has a free trial that you can download and have a play with before you spend any money to check that it will do what you need it to do.

If you have any questions about how it works, or what it costs I am available to answer any questions you might have. My email address is shown below and I am more than happy to answer any questions about the product or our service.

We have a home version which is designed to look after your home accounts, and import your bank statements, plus business versions that allow you to do eveything you would expect from a commercial piece of accounting software. We also have the same product available in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. We allow imports from all banks, but just in case your bank is not in our list of accepted imports, we can build that into your system for you and others after you.

Our product has been in the Australasian marketplace for 20 years, and is a good solid logically built piece of software. Please try it out and let me know how you get on.

No, he's not. However, I am. And it is. It's a JAWS list, this is a Windows
basic issue. This has nothing to do with JAWS, with its
compatibility/ability to make use of a particular program, or Windows in
general, or its general functionality. Therefore, this is the wrong list for
such things.

Hello Drew,
I posted on this list a few months back a group of programs that one could use to convert Kindle books to HTML so you can read them.
If I were you, I would use those conversion tools because the Kindle for PC is horrible. The best you can really do is add and remove books from your Kindle for PC.
Hope this helps,

Subject: Scripting a new application

As many of you know I was going to script a new application. One that answers the needs of the blind community. I nearly joined a project already in the works for PeachTree; however, there was a very good reason for not writing it. I won't go into the details, but I will not be scripting that application in the interest of the project's owner.
What I will say, is that I liked the idea of Quickbooks before I was diverted. There are many questions unanswered at this point as to what we truly need. So, it's still on the table for scripting something. This project however will not be free as were my last two projects Rhapsody and iTunes.
Please feel free to talk about what you need and why you feel it could benefit us all. If I took up Quickbooks, it isn't really competing for the financial application, but rather giving us a choice and an opportunity at a job perhaps. I don't even know if the other application will be written, and I have to assume that it won't be in any time soon.
Perhaps there will be those that prefer quickbooks and that's fine. The main idea is to give us more independence in our day to day life.
That's just an example of a useful application, but there are many out there. What I will not do is cross the boundry of Freedom Scientific with Messenger or Office applications, or web stuff. We are looking at client side applications.
So, let's get this ball rolling since my other project is winding down.

Brian Dalton

Hi Richard,

How do I know if google toolbar is being used?

Brian.

Hi,

I'm sending this mail on behalf of a friend of mine, who is having a problem
with Jaws and Internet Explorer.

Hi All

I wonder if anyone can help me? A few months ago I installed JAWS 12 onto
my parents PC so I could use the internet when I am visiting them. All was
well until this weekend. JAWS has literally stopped working with internet
explorer and I just can't understand why. When I load internet explorer
JAWS will read the title of the webpage and nothing else.

The arrow keys don't work and it says there are no links. If I try to use
any of the keystrokes like insert f6 the headings list won't appear and it
says no headings. No buttons or form fields can be found. If I press the
alt key I can look at the file, edit view menus etc but I just can't
navigate any webpages.

I have tried unloading and reloading JAWS, rebooting the PC, refreshing the
webpage and still no luck. Internet explorer 8 is the version on the PC.

All other applications are working perfectly with JAWS. I've never come
across this problem before.

If anyone can shed any light or help me out I would be really grateful as
this is so frustrating.

Thanks in advance.
Brian.

I have had little trouble with it. Version 1 is a bit limited, naturally,
in its navigability though. However, it is a good start. All Kindle books
are thus open to us!

I look forward to upgrades to it; and there seems to be a decent feedback
loop for that with Amazon on this.

Have you confirmed its accessibility? Comments on this list and elsewhere
indicate that it isn't fully accessible, and Brandon has been telling us
about a program that overcomes some of these problems.

Ah ok. All this time, I thought we were talking about an update newer than that.
