Does it not tell you the script name?
Are these third party scripts?
The one thing you can try is reinstalling the scripts if they are third party scripts. If they are the jaws provided scripts you can simply delete them from your user folder
c:\users\your user id\appdata\roaming\freedom scientific\jaws\jaws version\settings\enu\
If you made a change accidently and saved them they would have been saved in your user folder by deleting them you are only deleting a copy of the original.

Hi all again,
Just looking at this again and I had it backwards The Error is "Unknown Script Call To:"

I had just called VFO regarding uninstall and reinstall of JAWS on my desk top unit and also asked about the script error.\ I had told him that I had just done the update as well.
He suggested that I download a full version not just using the patch and run a repair on it.
I did and it didn't change. So I must have done something and not have realized it.
Whatever I did was simple since I didn't do anything on purpose.
What could cause this error?
Thanks
Shannon

Will this recording work for streaming video web sites other than YouTube? I have found a number of these conversion/download services, but most seem dedicated to use with only YouTube. Any suggestions out there?

if you want a program on your computer, check out:

"With Pontes Media Downloader you can download and convert media from popular media websites such as YouTube, DailyMotion, etc. The program is a gui interface that puts together two command line tools: YouTube-dl for downloading media and FFmpeg for converting media.
The simple intuitive interface enables the user to easily download and convert media from the Internet. You simply copy the URL of the page containing the video and press the Download button from Pontes Media Downloader. Also, this program is virus free and does not install any kind of toolbars or addons in your computer.
Pontes Media Downloader was programmed in C# by Nelu Cîmpean (Campus)."

http://www.pontes.ro/en/scripts/

I don't know what sites work, but I think if the video has a number assigned to it, there's a good chance PMD will work.
you don't even have to paste the address into the edit; just copying the URL to the Windows clipboard, alt+tab to the Pontes Media Downloader window, and PMD will retrieve the URL.
listen for one or more pops (or not), press tab and choose the format to convert the video to, press tab and start the download. the conversion will start after the download is finished.
I think PMD will even handle playlists if they have been created correctly. when starting the download, you'll hear an ascending sound, and if you hear a descending sound a few seconds after, PMD was not able to complete the process.
there's no need to fiddle with any options, except if you want the downloads/converted files to be saved in a different folder other than the default location.
the entire process executes as quickly as it can depending on your computer's capabilities.

I do not like the task switcher to be cluttered up with programs I do
not need to see. Mine does not hold my screen reader or the desktop
during cycling. It is simple enough to press insert-j when I need to
access the program. Of course, as it was yesterday, there was
absolutely nothing. No matter what I did would not have changed this.
The program simply did not run after installing the new update. It
seems to be working fine now.

JAWS should be running from the Systems Tray. If there is a way to get it on:

1. Press Insert+J.
2. Right Arrow on Options.
3. Enter on Basics.
4. Tab to JAWS on Systems Tray.
5. Spacebar to check it.

Hello. I am running a Windows 7 desktop PC with Microsoft Home edition. I did the update a little while ago. All seemed to go smoothly. I restarted my computer and absolutely no speech happened. I used Narrator to find out that Jaws was listed in the task manager. I cleared it out and then tried starting Jaws manually. Again, nothing happened, not even showing up in Task Manager.

OK, I just restarted the computer again and again, there is no speech with Jaws. The two items are once again in the Task Manager. One is JFW.exe. The other is jhookldr.exe.

The last thing I tried was going to the Jaws 18 folder and the final thing I did was to send a new shortcut for the JFW.exe file in the Jaws
18 folder to my desktop. Yes, this also fails. Now, what should I do?
Thank you for any assistance.

I am looking to turn off my computer screen, so no one can see what I am doing on my computer.

Can I configure wizmo to turn off the screen and still have the computer screen off if I use the key board or mouse?

Really, Ted? I am surprised. Good that we have choices. So much of the time there is not a right or wrong way just optional ways.

Not necessarily; I tried running mine there, and didn’t like it.

JAWS should be running from the Systems Tray. If there is a way to get it on:

1. Press Insert+J.
2. Right Arrow on Options.
3. Enter on Basics.
4. Tab to JAWS on Systems Tray.
5. Spacebar to check it.
6. Tab to OK.
7. Press Escape.

Carol

Hey guys!

I am a jaws screen reader user, I am blind and I just wanted to know if wizmo can do the following!

I am looking to turn off my computer screen, so no one can see what I am doing on my computer.

But I still want to use the key board or mouse.

Can I configure wizmo to turn off the screen and still have the computer screen off if I use the key board or mouse?

Thanks!!

I have it set to automatically load after Windows is loaded. The problem started today, after I updated. It is now working. Thank you for responding.

Re: problem after update

Yes, after I did not have speech from Jaws, I opened Narrator and went to the Task Manager to verify whether Jaws was or was not running. Narrator is not very good in Windows 7, but it does work well enough to get around the basic Windows screens, when needed.

Fortunately, the problem resolved itself. I would have had no way to do that. There was no speech. I finally gave up and went to Window-Eyes.
After that, Jaws worked the next time I tried to use it. I am currently using it with no problems.

Can someone please let me know if I am running the correct version. I just checked and it says I am running version 18.0.4104. I just read that someone said their version is 18.06 or something similar to that.
Thanks for the help.

So, now, Carol, if you'll go to Insert+J, Options, Basics, you can check JAWS to your Systems tray and make sure it is checked to load at starting. That option is in that same string with Systems tray.
