typing in Excel

I used to be able to type a few letters of a word & it would fill in the rest of the word if it was already on my spreadsheet. For example: type cle & it would add ared for the word cleared. Now it doesn’t do it & I can’t figure out how to make it do it again. I am using Windows 7, Excel 2010 & JAWS 18.0.2945. Any help would be appreciated. Denise

Smart navigation is now turned off here, so we’ll see if the problem recurs.
Thanks for the help.

Hello,
I had a somewhat similar issue just this week.
I called up VFO and got some answers for this. I am guessing if it is the same information as my situation it is caused by smart navigation. You can toggle this off if you want. While in Internet Explorer or whatever browser you are using, press insert-v. This gives you many settings related to the corresponding program. In the search box type smart for the first word that you are searching for. I had two matches. I cannot recall, but I think you tab to the two results. You can up/down arrow to the choices. You can make changes and tab to save or close or something. Sorry I am not familiar to recall the exact details, but I am sure you can follow those OK. Smile.
That fixed my issue. I asked the general purpose of smart navaigation. I was told that when JAWS recognized a table, it allows you to use the arrow keys to move around. It is to simplify tables. It is on by default.
I hope this helps.

Hi Tom,
I am new to JAWS, and I am sure others can answer better. Here is some information.

To select different choices in the list above, use your space bar to rotate among the choices for that setting.
I was told that turning off smart navigation means that special settings for reading tables will not work. When turned on, smart navigation allows you move inside tables with just the arrow keys.

How do you turn off smart navigation, and are their any disadvantages of doing so?
I’m using Jaws 18, Windows 7, and office 365 here.

Re: OK so what's the deal with the captcha on Craig's List?
Mike Ulrich <mulrich@...>
I tried to do that in the past. But I can't seem to find any kind of contact Link, on the craigslist website. Would anyone here happen to know of a way I can get in touch with craigslist, and note this non-excess ability issue to them? Thanks! Sent from a land far far away in a not so distant time zone!

current relaese of jaws and win 10 build 16232.1 speech history sorta works. I get seach results but they are very limited and diffently not all of them. speech only brings back "clear speech history" thats it. Form only brings back move to next field.

version, one using JAWS 17 and one using JAWS 18, please reply if search commands works or not. also include if you're using Win7 or 10. I'm curios.
