Re: Clearing cookies

Funny side note …… I just got this laptop about a month or so ago …… This is a Del laptop so when I heard talk about the Del key I thought maybe there was a key related to my laptop that I was unaware of …… I didn’t realize the Del key was short for delete …… I know what and where that key is (LOL).

Thanks,

Laura

Hi Laura,

The, Del key, is short for, Delete key.  It's located between the Insert / Jaws key & the Enter key on the Numpad.  Also there's a Del / Delete key in the group of keys know as the 6 pack of keys between the main keyboard & the Numpad, right above the arrow keys.

Take care.  Mike.  Go Dodgers!

I tried Insert Key Mode, but it didn't work. Yes, it makes the Insert

pressing F12 twice quickly while holding down the Insert key.

Imagine you only have one hand and you can only press one key at a

No, The DEL key is not the same as Insert. It's usually on the NumPad between the zero key and the ENTER key on the NumPad, not the regular keys. If you have a "Six-pack" on your keyboard, it is usually there, too.

Re: Clearing cookies

Any time you have a problem with a site the first thing you hear is “clear your cookies.”

I have cookies that are years old and would be very difficult to recreate.  Ask the person for the name of any cookies they put on your machine and delete only those.  The person you are talking to probably won’t be able to answer the question.

If I can’t find another way to access the site, possibly on another computer, I will search my cookies to try to find any related to the site in question.  I’ll move them out of the cookie folder to see if that helps.  If not, I put them back since they may actually be for another site.

While composing a message in Outlook, you can also use ctrl-k to insert a
hyperlink (you're prompted for the destination of the link and for the text
to be used as the link anchor in the message).

Clearing cookies

Hello,

I’m using Windows 10, Jaws 18, and IE 11.  I’m locked out of my FB account and was instructed to clear cookies in my browser.  I don’t know anything about cookies and don’t know the first thing about how to do this.

Re: How do I lock the Insert key?

Mike Rogers

Here's the information that I recieved from the list and it works great.

This is found in the Settings Center (Insert-6).
First, after arriving in the Setting Center, press Control-Shift-D to load the global settings.
Then, expand the User node, and arrow to Insert key mode.
By default, it is unchecked, and so you would check it by pressing spacebar on it.
Incidentally, you can tab once after focusing any option to jump into the description pane and read the details for any setting, and you can use up and down arrows to read all the information available.
Finally, tab to Ok to apply and save your settings and close the dialog.

ability to use it to lock the insert key is. I personally can't reproduce

Unicode Characters and BrailleIn

Dr. Aleksander Pavkovic <a.pavkovic@...>

Hi there,

a few weeks ago I have asked about the possibility to enter Unicode characters using the BrailleIn feature, e.g. on an ElBraille.

In a slightly different context I came across a hint on how to enter special characters in Microsoft Word when there is non um pad available. Just entert he hex value oft he character followed by ALT+C (in WordPad: ALT+X).

This means that, if you know the hexadecimal value of for example a letter with umlaut or an accent, just enter it on your Braille keyboard, then press dots 6,8 chord (the Alt portion oft he keystroke) followed by c (dots 1,4).

This will help me a lot in using the ElBraille typing in various languages.

Best regards,

Aleksander

Re: Big problem with JAWS and Excel.

Allan <allan.milne@...>

Ralf - good idea; tried copying a spreadsheet to my c:\temp foder ... and also created a new spreadsheet in that folder ...
in both cases it appeared to work fine and then after entering a few rows of data (approx. 10 rows) I got the sticky behaciour with extreme slowness in responding to keystrokes again ...
so no difference from the oneDrive cloud folder behaviour I found earlier!

Perhaps the only further information is that it appears to misbehave only when adding new cells; navigating around a spreadsheet with existing cell contents does not seem to cause the behaviour.

I'm using Office on my local machine.

Any further ideas?
