In Firefox at least I can find an "Auto play" checkbox by hitting 'x'.

Thanks for the clarification.

Although I probably don’t need this right now, it’s certainly something to keep in mind for later on.

Hi,

I’m running Linux (Vinux) in a virtual machine on my laptop running Windows 10 and Jaws 18. I used VMware Workstation 12 Player, which is free for non-commercial use, for creating my virtual machine, and it works well with Jaws, so I see no reason why VirtualBox would not work with Jaws.

Good luck.

According to what I have read elsewhere, its configuration process is accessible, but I haven’t tried it yet. VirtualBox is also reputed to have an excellent command line interface, which should enable you to work around any GUI accessibility issues.

Sendspace seems to be very accessable with JAWS. I don’t save anything to my account—if I even have one on that site anymore. However, tutor messages like “press alt l” to download something work very well. Sometimes, you have to hit your CTRL and w keys to get out of a tab you don’t really want, but you can then go into your IE download manager to download the file/s you’d like. You have to do these one at a time though, so …

Re: sending emails with gmail and jfw

Jed,

It appears from your description that you are using the Gmail web interface to send and receive e-mail messages and are wanting the activation of a "mailto" link to fire up a Gmail window, but using Firefox, your default browser.

This gets really messy since web browsers are not recognized as e-mail clients.

The only way I found to solve this issue when my partner wanted the exact same thing you do was to employ a third-party program called Affixa, which causes mailto links to fire up Gmail in your web browser of choice.  I cannot say whether or not it is accessible as far as setup in any way, but you may want to take a look at it to see if it might suit your needs:  https://www.affixa.com/desktop/#gmail

It is free for home use.
