I was afraid of that.  This is what I call program as computer game—find and rescue the princess in the tower.  Busy people have no time for this nonsense.

Hi Ted!  You are correct.  It is very hard to find when attachments are embedded in an email.  I normally have to use the JAWS or touch cursor to find them.  If you encounter an email like this, the Insert plus A key stroke will not work.

Unsuccessful …… I followed these steps and did fine until I got to the page to type in my user name and password.  Once I was at that page Jaws would only say “blank” when I would press the arrow keys and would say nothing when I tried to tab or press enter.  The Jaws curser was even more limiting.  Does anybody know why this would be happening? …… Using Jaws 18, Windows 10, and Internet Explorer.

Laura,

You need to log in to your router using a web browser. Usually the address is 192.168.0.1. But check your documentation. If you've never set a password, then the user names is admin and password is admin. The web GUI is usually quite navigable with JAWS.

Really nothing. I am unemployed, so don't have a job requiring any specialized software where a Jaws script may be needed for more accessibility. Plus NVDA is extremely snappy. For starters, the installer is only about a 19mb file, installation doesn't even take a minute since it doesn't require a system reboot, and most, if not all, settings can be changed on the fly.
Example, voice settings can either be changed by Ins-N, P, V (NVDA menu, Preferences, Voice settings) or Control-Ins-V from anywhere .

I see what you mean.
That isn't working at all like it should.
I'll have to try that at work where we have Windows 7 and Office 2013.

Thanks,
Richard

Hi, Richard.
I use control-shift-f to bring up the advanced find.
I'm still playing with f3 and will try control-e.
So here's an example.
I'd press control shift-f and the initial choice is a edit combo wher you
can type in a string you might find in the subject.
So I would type in sticky keys
Press enter and after a few secondsthe program would stop searching.
At that point I would press f6 to get quickly to the results.
I would then select all the messages either delete or perhaps move them
somewhere.
All the best, Brian

Brian

I'm not having issues with the find.
I just tried f3, which I had not used before and it found messages rather
quickly.
I previously used control+e.

It doesn't identify itself as advanced find. Is there more steps to what
you are doing?

Richard

Hello there;
I also find the advance search doesn't work, I use the f3 key to search type
in criteria,

Shift+tab a few times to the search results.

Since updating to outlook 2016, the advanced find dialog hangs on after I
press the find now button. It hangs on stop and stays there.

It used to simply find what I was looking for, (say something in the subject
line) and I could find the list of messages by pressing the f6 key.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi Bob,

I am in the UK and have a JAWS licence and so will not be buying your licence, sorry about that. However, could you please answer the following?

What applications do you use NVDA for which are also covered by JAWS?

More to the point, what could JAWS do for you that NVDA cannt?

Regards, John

The subject says it all.

After using Jaws since mid. May, I decided to part with my Jaws 18 and stick with NVDA which has been my steady screen reader for the past two years.  Along with my preferring the UI of NVDA and the fact that it supports everything I use extremely well, both my wife and I are unemployed so I can't warrant spending money on screen access for the foreseeable future.

$275 and I will cover the $75 transfer fee.  I do take Paypal, jutzi@....

I will Email serial and authorization numbers upon transfer of license.
