Laura,
Unplug your scanner, and then plug it in, with
Openbook not running. Then launch Openbook. Likely OB has just lost the USB
connection to your scanner.
...or is your scanner turned on?

Laura,
IF it did work in the past, and your Pearl camera
or scanner are turned on, then likely Openbook does not find your scanning
device. Try closing Openbook, unplug the USB for scanning device, plug it back
in, and then launch Openbook.

Re: Open Book & Jaws 18 problem solved
Richard Turner <richardturner42@...>
I have not used OnniPage for years and years. When I tried it, the work arounds to use a screen reader were a lot of work.
I have to admit, I didn't have to buy OpenBook originally, just paid for a few, very early upgrades, then got on the beta team, so It hasn't been a financial burden for me.
But, if I were starting from scratch today, I would use OCR on my iPhone and not bother with the computer.
What version of OmniPage are you using and what work arounds do you have to do?
Thanks,
Richard

Hi I have a payroll report that is several pages sometimes only 2 but as many as 20. I need to print a hard copy of the last page. When I use WE I do a Mouse find for the word “All”. Then I would use the mouse to read the different radio selections down to the page range box. Now I know how many pages there are in the document 1 – 8 or 1 – 15 however many there are, I arrowed back up to the page range selection and click that radio button tab once to the edit box and type the number of the last page and press enter to print. I can’t figure out the quick way to do this with JAWS. The JAWS find command will not find all. It always fails. It is a lot of tabbing to get to the radio buttons and the page range is just past that
Thanks for your time Shannon

visual studio 2017
marvin hunkin <startrekcafe@...>
Hi. using visual studio 2017 community. The installer is a lot more accessible, like a web page, and you can arrow or use the jaws commands to jump to the various controls, and it does tell you the percentage when installing or updating, in vs 2015, nvda would only read the entire window, a lot better accessibility. Well c #, asp dot net, is very accessible, and you have the options in a list box to install missing components. It is more accessible, once you add the info to the config names.ini. and using it, and jaws does not read the project name, so a step backward, not sure why, but when you type in a name or copy and paste a name, then when the browse location, does not speak the dialog. Maybe vs or some one has some scripts that fixes it and it does read the message box, when running visual studio community 2017 for the first time about jaws not able to read wizards inside a project. Overall, it is a lot better then vs 2015 in some aspects. And using it for my it course. Thanks.
