Re: Need help with using jaws on microsoft online package

Sieghard Weitzel <sieghard@...>

Hi Jim,

Thanks a lot for this, at first I tried to find this with Chrome and could not, I then tried IE and was able to change it. I am so glad you explained this because this used to be how my Outlook on the web looked like and then it changed and I found it very unusable. I haven't tried the light version with Chrome, but on the regular version Chrome does not read any messages at all, visually they are there, but Chrome will skip right over the entire message list.
This is the same when I log into my Bank of Montreal Mastercard account using Chrome. Jaws reads none of the transaction details, it will read the column headers like transaction date, date posted, description and the amount, but no details. If I log in with Internet Explorer all the transactions are read just fine, I can use table navigation and it works beautifully. I should mention that I asked one of my employees to look and visually all the details are there as are the email messages, but there is something seriously wrong with Chrome on these sites. It really is too bad since otherwise I find Chrome is very accessible and much faster than IE.
Now I wishMicrosoft would do something about Outlook.com which I use for my personal email.

Regards,
Sieghard

I hope that it is possible for you to follow these directions.
Since I am already using the lite version, I was not able to give you complete instructions using the keyboard, but this may be enough info to get you started.

Outlook Web App is a fantastic web-based email client for Exchange Online. It's almost as full-featured as the desktop version, allows offline mail access, and provides a high level of customization.

It is, however, somewhat bandwidth-hungry. To help with this issue, and also address older browser needs and provide some accessibility features, the full-featured version of OWA can be switched to a 'light-weight' classic version of OWA. To do so, follow these steps:

Sign in to OWA, and click on the settings gear in the upper right to get to the menu. Then click on Options:

In the Options screen, click on General and then Outlook on the web version:

Now check the Use the light version of Outlook on the web, and then click on SAVE:

Note that you will need to sign out and sign back in to see your changes. To sign out, click on the icon/avatar (or picture, if you've set one!) in the upper right of the browser, and choose "Sign out".

I hope this may be helpful.

You should be able to use a pre-paid credit card such as Mastercard or Visa.  I have used these with Best buy and Go-daddy.

Any ideas.

If web site hosting, I use x10webhosting.com

Hello,
I am looking for a redundant backup option either hard drive NAS or
cloud-based that is accessible with JAWS18 and works with Windows10.
What are people's recommendations? Such a service should not take up space
on the computer for backup. I have tried Crashplan and Carbonite but I found
that I am only able to initiate the backup but not restore files. I have
also tried the Synology demo and it seems accessible, but I would want to

Thank you in advance for any responses

Hello Jonas,
I am confused by your question. I went to the site and pressed enter
on the link that states dsm live demo. Further down the site they have
an item on their page which states try it now for free! I pressed
enter on this and then after about a second or so, the demo opened
automatically.
Hope that helps

Yes, it is exactly what I want to do. You are opening the vb code source for that sheet. The Macro editor opens the code that you can create for macros, but not for the sheet code.

When I right click a sheet tab, the only option I get that includes the word code is "View Code", but this just takes me into the VBA editor. The name of the document that's open in each case is "Sheet N code" where N is the number of the sheet.

Re: Accessing the sheet code excel 2016

Hmmm, I will try to explain this in a few words in general lines.
When you create an excel sheet, here in the sheet code you are able to see
the code that do the procedures in your excel sheet. Here you can control
events like moving the mouse over an specific cell, or the event change when
the value of a cell changes. Normally in the macro editor you are able to
create macros that are going to work when you press a keystroke. But in the
sheet code this operations are going to be working all the time, not just
when you press a keystroke.

Can't really answer your question, but I can suggest selecting the entire code, copying it to the clipboard, and then pasting it into the correct field within the authorisation system.

My code was delivered via email, and I currently have it in a simple Notepad txt file which will find itsway on to a thumb drive.

Re: Need help with using jaws on microsoft online package

Hello, I have found that by far, the most helpful and important option
to change is in Options, outlook version, and to use the lite mode.
Then, you are not presented with Tree Views which are highly difficult
to navigate, but a more typical interface, very similar to Gmail's
Basic HTML version, all check boxes and links are very clearly
labeled, and Outlook on the web in lite mode is very useable.
Thanks.

Re: Ring Video Pro accessibility

Cristóbal

So far, so good. I went ahead and grabbed it as it was on sale this weekend. Ended up having to also get a wifi range extender since I live in a pretty big house. That seems to have helped with the signal.

The app appears to be doable. One thing though, I’m finding when in the video screen, sometimes, I am unable to do anything to get out of it. I get no feedback from VO and end up having to close out the app completely and relaunch.

Still trying to figure out the motion sensor aspect since I don’t’ seem to be getting any alerts for that part.

In any event, it’s working well.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have a regular Ring Video Doorbell at home and a Pro at my retail store’s backdoor.

As Luis says, it’s relatively accessible, but it could be improved. I find especially sometimes when a notification comes in that somebody rang the doorbell and I tap on it, then I have to unlock my device with Touch Id it sometimes goes straight to the video screen and sometimes it does not.

Also, at least for me you have to double tap a button to speak, it would make sense to me if this would be automatically done or at least if there were a setting where you could enable or disable this.

I also wish they could figure out how you could answer the doorbell from your lockscreen just as you can answer a phone call, but that maybe something Apple prevents.

Regards,

Sieghard

Yes I use one. It's not perfect but I can answer the door & talk to the ringer. Most everything is labeled "Miles my vary!"

I have the Ring video door bell with two extra stick up cams for the back door and yard.

Hello list,

Was considering getting a Ring Video Pro and would like to know if the accompanying app/cloud service is at all accessible?

I’d likely get someone to install it, but I’m interested in the notifications aspect. Both the wife and I run our businesses out of the house, so we’re home throughout the day. We’ve already got a no solicitations, no surveys and no sermons sign in front to cut down on people coming to the door, but there are always those who would never consider that such a sign applies to them.

In any event, I’d like to know people’s experiences with this device and accompanying desktop app for Windows.

Using the latest JFW 18.

Thanks,

Subject: redundant backup options accessibility with JAWS18

Hello,
I am looking for a redundant backup option either hard drive NAS or cloud-based that is accessible with JAWS18 and works with Windows10.
What are people's recommendations? Such a service should not take up space on the computer for backup. I have tried Crashplan and Carbonite but I found that I am only able to initiate the backup but not restore files. I have also tried the Synology demo and it seems accessible, but I would want to hear people's experiences to confirm this.
Thank you in advance for any responses
