Re: Statistical Software
Tim Ford
I would check with IBM. They claim otherwise, and if your experience is several years old, there is probably a huge difference. If not, IBM makes it clear that they consider SPSS accessibility a priority, and if it were me, I would give them the chance. Have them work on any problems. Have good training materials. If we give up on companies before they get religion and try harder, then we are cutting off our own potential opportunities.

It might not be seeing what you entered into the amount field for some reason, and that is why it is taking you back to that edit field on the page. This has happened to me on a couple of sites I use at work.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
For this, I go back to a prior form element like combo box, edit field, etc., make sure forms mode is turned on, then tab to the edit field I was having problems with and enter the information. Once the information is entered, I tab to the button and hit the space bar. This has worked for me. Not sure this is your problem, but worth giving it a try. Chris

I used to do that frequently when I was intending to do something else. I don't know of a way to disable that feature, so I ended up removing every keyboard language on the system except the one I was using. Bing bang boom problem solved. -----Original Message----- From: main@jfw.groups.io [mailto:main@jfw.groups.io] On Behalf Of David & his pack of dogs Sent: May-30-17 11:34 AM To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: Re: JAWS tutorials? Once again I fouled up the language on my keyboard. I just went into the start menu and typed out my request for "How do I change the language on my keyboard" Don't know if it was JAWS or the info itself. But, it said to hold down the windows key and cycle through the languages by continueing to hit the space bar till I heard the language I wanted. So, if it was a JAWS tutorial, it was very helpful. To date, I have no idea how I switched languages on the keyboard in the first place. But, at least I know now, how to fix my screw ups. -----Original Message----- From: main@jfw.groups.io [mailto:main@jfw.groups.io] On Behalf Of Lee Anne Atkinson Sent: Tuesday, May 30, 2017 8:23 AM To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: Re: Newby Hi Vic, Welcome! Re: how do i scilance the audio ducking in jaws 17 and 18?
Sieghard Weitzel <sieghard@...>
Mich,
You don’t say what version of Windows you use. Audio ducking can be turned on or off with the layered keystroke Jaws Key+Spacebar followed by “D” or you can go to the Settings Centre, load the default settings, search for “volume” and enable or disable it permanently. Audio ducking is not available in Jaws 17, it is new in Jaws 18 and only works if you are using Windows 8.1 or 10. If you use Windows 7 audio ducking is not available regardless of which version of Jaws you have. When Windows 10 Creator’s Update came out the audio ducking feature was disabled as it didn’t work correctly, I don’t recall reading that it was working again in the latest Jaws update although the option is there in Settings Centre and the layered keystroke also works. Just now I tried it when a Youtube video was playing and if it was on the volume of the Youtube video was a lot lower and even when Jaws wasn’t speaking it didn’t come up. When I turned audio ducking off the video was louder so maybe it still is not working correctly.
Regards, Sieghard

Hello Kevin I wonder if what happened to you is what I ran in to last week with my bank while trying to pay a bill.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
I copied and pasted the amount from one sight in to the pay to field on my bank's web sight and it kept kicking me out and saying invalid entry. I finally had to erase everything out of the pay to field and manually inter it with no dollar sign and then it went through with no problem. That may not be your problem but I just thought I would tell you my mishap in hopes maybe it will help.

Well, that's a coincidence because I use Coast Capitol a derivative of Island savings.

Re: Statistical Software
Alyssa <lyssassong@...>
Unfortunately SPSS is not accessible. I was supposed to use it a few years back for grad school. Even with scripts, it did not play well with JAWS.
