Re: PDF to either HTML or TXT convertor
Marquette, Ed <ed.marquette@...>
The PDF files that are “locked” are just a problem. I have to print them out and scan them back in. Then, I end up running an OCR on the scanned files.

“empty document”
What is the advantage of using this approach as opposed to pulling up the document in Adobe, then doing a save-as to generate the txt or html format?

I find that the jaws OCR does a pretty good job, often better than what opening in adobe does.

I let the OCR run through, do a control A to select the whole document and then paste it into word. I use word because the process maintains tables. Regards Tom Bisset

Google Sheets is a way for multiple people to work on and share a spreadsheet. There is all Google Slides and Google Docs. You can determine who you share the Google Drive products with and what level of editing is available. It is frequently used in schools but can be sued any time you need to work on something with others. The commands are different than commands for Word, PPT and Excel. You can do a Google search and find a list of commands.

Listen to the latest FS Cast for more information, it sounds like there will b official Edge support still with Jaws 18 and this was demonstrated at CSUN in March. Since Jaws 19 comes out in 6 months and the Jaws 19 public beta will most likely be available in 4 months I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a Jaws 18 update with Edge support later in May or in June. In the meantime there really is no reason to be disappointed, it’s not like there aren’t other good browser options out there, I would say with one or two exceptions Google Chrome currently is the best choice available.

Hello,
In the publically released JAWS 18.0 builds, Edge support is not yet available. Information will be provided by VFO soon on when it will be ready. It takes a lot of time, and effort to do it, since it requires to re-architect large portions of JAWS.
Best,

Re: Inserting Youtube video into PowerPoint2016 presentation JAWS18
Shai, This is a situation where I'd either call Freedom Scientific Technical Support, the Microsoft Accessibility Technical Support line, or both. It's obvious that this used to work and now is no longer doing so. It's often very difficult to determine "which side is at fault" and sometimes it's a little bit of both. My guess is that a bug has been introduced somewhere and it's going to be up to the two parties who are producing the code to figure out where and how. Presenting the willfully ignorant with facts is the very definition of casting pearls before swine.

Pressing enter or space does not invoke any action, and tabbing across does not announce also. I hope this helps to clarify things
